BASC AGM

So I have had a really good conversation with the BASC Finance director after my large email last week. She called me and was very nice and she did explain some of the decisions taken by BASC. However that email was also sent to you Mr O’Gorman and you have not bothered to reply!!!! BASC are so far removed from what most shooting people want it’s frankly alarming. What she did say is that they are losing members quite quickly hence my phone call from her.
......this basically, and good the only way to make them take notice is to vote with the wallet

Given your ongoing interest in BASC how about you pick up the phone and contact me directly for a chat?
I wouldn’t waste the phone battery Connor , the sooner basc fails the sooner you can look for a job with merit , the writings on the wall my friend folks are leaving in droves ..... finally !

We are receiving huge support from fellow shooters on the campaign to hold Cllr Dave Taylor to account. We will continue to work on this.
Where was the campaign to get a fair deal for shooters with respect to GPs involvement in certificate grants? It might be better if you revisited, and continued to work on, that: in some kind of attempt to reverse the otherwise-permanent damage to the firearms certification process which you've approved on behalf of your members - I among them.

I might be competely mistaken, but my feeling is that in a relatively short period of time it will become clear that Cllr Taylor's story will have had a smaller impact on the shooting public than our being walked by BASC into a position where we have to pay unspecified sums, in addition to the statutory fees, for medical involvement (the utility of which with respect to public safety remains unexamined) in the issuing of our certificates.

The latest information is as follows.

Come on jimbo ya spout ya mouth off left right an centre, do as he asks, pick up the phone an tell him, all BASC's failings "which I've always said are numerous" and tell him how the other organisations are better because they're getting things changed for the better...

I made my feelings known to basc years ago when I left , they were completely uninterested , why would I assume that anything has changed ? Keep paying the fees pal :thumb:

Because basc members deserve to know the truth about the beloved voice , would you rather your lovely org carry on as it is ?
As usual with all my posts jimbo, you either skip read them or just choose to answer a fraction of it "the easy bit"
...... Tell him with evidence to back up what all the other organisations are doing to rectify the problems....
It's OK to just give it because BASC say they're the voice of shooting, loads of folk aren't in BASC so does that mean they're organisation doesn't have to do owt an just get money for nowt....

I ended up with the SGA as Basc were doing next to nothing other than pulling in cash and I watched them leave one specific shooter out in the cold when he needed them.

That was enough to make my mind up that they would never again receive a penny from me.

A great shame to see in fighting but I understand the frustration of shooters at the organisations. To say others “are doing nothing as well” - well for me the insurance provided by others is the main benefit, and it seems from the comments you don’t even get that with BASC now....I’m sorry, but that’s an bloody expensive payout to get a window sticker and wall planner!

Regards,
Gixer

If your friend had a valid/fightable case then it's disgusting that it wasn't taken up and if that was me I'd be p155ed off too.
As for insurance yes nobody can say the removal of the added benefit is a good move and I'm sure given the bigger sum people pay them BASC could/SHOULD act differently.
Correct me if I'm wrong but SGA don't give the extra on the insurance do they, however had you gone to ccc3 or one of the other independent insurance companies then for similar money you would have got it.
Totally your decision who you pay an I respect your decision..
