Kuiu Pro Bino harness

Marsupial Gear.

Front folding down flap, held under in place in my mind was the most sensible design for me. Slimline and very well made, I really like mine.

Only get them in the US - mine took about a month to arrive.

I have the Kuiu XL bino hardness and HD-B’s fit great. Easy to get in and out one handed
Should have said, the large size was too small

the original bino holder is better for carrying binos and thermal at the same time if that helps. I wear the pouch low and just let the bino sit at chest height out of the pouch. This leaves the pouch free for thermal.

What a faff. Just hang them around your neck and stuff them inside the jacket against dangling or to protect them from rain or when crawling.

I thought this for years.

Then I got a harness. They really do make a big enough difference to be entirely worth while.

Though there are big differences between makes. Some are far too bulky and make you feel like a bad Dolly Parton drag act. I would say the Kuiu ones are on the edge of this.

This is why I want a harness!

I also like to go hiking and wild camping, having binos hanging around my neck for 5 hours is very tiresome I find.

Started with a Harkila one - just not rugged enough for stalking. Imported a large Kuiu for my Meopta 10x42 which fitted well but I didn’t like that once the binos were out, there was nothing holding the top of the case hence KB’s comments about sports bras I believe. Treated myself to some Leica 10x42 HD-B’s only to find that they didn’t fit. Bit the bullet and imported an Alaskan Guide Creation and I’m never going back. Have used for the last 2 years of hard stalking and I still think it’s great! I highly recommend them especially for the larger range finding binos. Having paid a small fortune for the binos, why wouldn’t you spend a little more and get something that not only works but protects that investment!58307349-F662-4276-BB7F-DC08E4266425.jpeg

I wouldn't be without one either these days, when I go out with 4.5k plus worth of gear nice to know it's safe. I had 2 days on hinds and lad who took me out had a nice pair of compact Swarovski bins and all he did was pop down his smock which was working for him for years!!!

I bought the Kuiu pro harness (Large) for my Swarovski 10x42 and they fit perfect, I had the Swarovski harness and thought it was good but the Kuiu one is brilliant, I haven't tried any other and probably won't need as the Kuiu is perfect fit and comfortable.

It took me a while to decide on which harness to go for but I settled on the Kuiu, a number of reasons but the fact the "lid / top" opens away from you makes things easier, and its slimline design. If your using thermal aswell then there's room to attach a pouch on the side. I went with a pouch from Waldkauz, I then made a lanyard to secure them in the same way as the bins when out of the harness. It maybe worth getting the extra pouch to attach to the bottom, I use that for gloves and such. The pocket on the front under the logo really is less than useless and you'd struggle to even get a credit card in there...

In an attempt to be more constructive I feel it helps a great deal in the matter of restricted movement to keep the straps narrow rather than those preferred by manufacturer's of the more aggressive mil-spec type such as FHF who probably offer a bolt-on parachute pouch!

Mine from FHF and with a few mods including a soft leather insert for when I do use it as the nylon is noisy. It is a size 'L' if I recall correctly and only just accommodates my 8X56 Night Owls as will be noted by the flap coverage. The pouch is NOT intended to be waterproof so gaps are not a concern.

What colour is this if you don't mind me asking, Ranger Green?
Been looking at FHF and AGC.
