Hello Lads, - Danish Italy based Hunter here :)

Since it's customary to post a brief introduction when joining, i thought why Not get it done and say Hello to everyone in the process too :)

Well, as the title say I'm a Danish hunter living in the north east of italy.

I became a hunter already at 16 back in Denmark, but then put it on hold for a good few years until I 4 years ago or so decided that I'd get back into it, here in Italy.
The process was a nightmare, but Now I'm finally a selettore, so basically what I think you guys call a stalker.

Where I live we have red deer, fallow, roe, wild boar and muflone, so a Good selection of species.👍
Sometimes I'm also lucky enough to be invited to hunt in the high alps with friends. There Chamois can also be hunted, along with the species already mentioned before.

I have two rifles. One is a 7x57 mannlicher schoenauer GK stutzen made in the late sixties, with 52 cm barrel .
The other one is a Schultz Larsen 6.5 x57 with a 60 cm barrel made shortly after the second world war on captured german Mauser 98 actions.

For me rifles ideally combine practicality with beauty, craftsmanship and if possible history. So these two are right up my alley. :)

I thought I'd join This forum as i think we should always look to improve, and sharing information, advice and stories is a big part of that.
On top of this, who doesn't like debating and talking about ones passion. ;D ?

I guess that is it, i hope it wasn't to too long an introduction, and i am looking forward to getting to know you All, in the forum. :)

Cheers and salutations From Italy,

Scipius

Welcome from Ireland, I wouldn't mind being back in Copenhagen at this time of year for the extra strong beers.

Hancock (8.5%) or the Xmas beers ?
Hello Lads :)

Hehe, i wouldn't mind either, but unfortunately work will keep me in Italy for a bit Further still ;)

The Danish Xmas beers are Indeed typically a bit stronger, darker and sweeter than our normal pilsners, but I'm Not Sure I've ever had one at 8.5% yet 😀

Julebryg ! It had me speaking in tongues on various occasions accompanied by a seemingly endless procession of different snaps.
That Sounds like a classic Danish "Julefrokost". Haha ;D

Julebryg is Indeed the stronger Christmas beer. It literally translates to "Christmas Brew" . (Y)

That's the one, think there was another one called Elephant. I was over there working for one December and it's all a bit of a blur. Very healthy fit people but once the weekend comes it's all about getting wrecked. They used to sell those shnap shots in the local shops in a sort of cartridge belt, I couldn't believe it when the salad eating cyclists would buy them and throw them back before breakfast on the Sunday morning.

Haha, yep, that sounds like home, (for better and worse) 😄.

@fairhill “Elephant “ beer is Carlsbergs palatable version of our Carlsberg Special (too sweet) I just checked the abv of Hancock Julebryg and Påskebryg, it comes in at a staggering 10.5%. No wonder 💭

10.5 percent! Wow. Did you buy this Hancock beer at some special beer pub, or was it around on general draft?

Haha, yeah, that one should do a good job alright ;D
You lads have made me curious, - I'll have to see if I can't Find it, when I go home.

A “friend” bought it locally in Aarhus. 2 bottles stitched me up properly.
Worked there too one winter, it was so cold that you could throw a snowball from the beach out to sea and no matter how far it was thrown it would break on the surface.
