Nasty head injury

Just for others to see I'll attach a pic of a cwd buck who got slashed by an opponent. It had gone to the skull virtually. He was sat alone probably with a sore and cold head before he was shot! I know I'd feel a bit of a draft
Often stalkers see muntjac with scars and torn ears, but alot of stalker haven't seen cwd injuries, perhaps a real life cwd altogether. So here you go...

Thanks for sharing the (CWD) photos!
I hadn't realised they inflicted wounds of muntjac-like severity on each other.
A few years back I shot a muntjac buck with a set of raw gashes on its haunch one of which had gone right down to the bone. No wonder they have such thick skin on their front ends.
It was a memorable shot, backlit by a low sun, and taken towards the end of a showery day. When the bullet struck the animal, the shockwave spread out along its body and threw off a complete halo of sunlit raindrops before the buck dropped.

Deep gash right down to the skull.. tripped at work and head butted a sharp stone in a garden wall..this is the best one the rest are x-rated lol...

That’s a cracker mate, seen a few heads opened up as a rugby player and coach, but that’s right up there. Still, only a minor flesh wound for a Devon lad, strong in the arm, thick in the head.

Yes mate...had to have a brain scan and was pleased to say they found one....six deep stitches with the needle touching my skull on a couple of them.. bled like a stuck pig all over the customers garden and all over me ...it looked like a scene from kill bill lol.. yeah just a scratch mate...

Some cracking photos in this thread , I'm currently walking around the house with my full face bike helmet on after seeing them !! Hadnt seen any CWD injuries before so thanks for sharing it.

Interestingly fallow thicken their skin in a few places before the rut, including the head and shoulder. Very resilient animals and fight so hard.
