I picked up this lovely little bargain rifle recently. I wasn't too happy with the super high scope mounts available so made some custom mounts. I drilled and tapped the receiver with M4 threads which was quite a challenge due to the hardness of the investment cast receiver!!
I used a £27 30mm Browning A-Bolt DNZ mount (from MM Sporting off here) and chopped it up, milling the bottom flat and also adding and enlarging counterbored mounting holes to suit.
The 1/8" rear spacer needs some filing still and I'll then lap the rings so they're concentric.
The old Hillver mount had about 16mm clearance from scope to barrel. The new solution is down to about 4mm.
Just a fun little project to improve my rifle using my lathe and milling attachment.
Next on the list is a 3D printed buttpad spacer to increase the LOP.
