just as a sideline, my Doctor phoned me to come in for a test, told me to stay in my car, I gave him the reg No and colour, and duly turned up 5 mins before the allotted time, seen the Doctor come out of the side of the building, he came over to my car, waved me out and I followed him to the surgery door, where he asked me for may name and date of birth, problem was he wasn'tt looking for me, so he told me to go back to my car and wait inside it, any way after sitting in my car for the next hour, and now 1 hour after my appointment time, I went to the surgery door, told them of my predicament, they then told me to go back to my car and wait, 30 minutes later they came out and apologised, apparently the first Doctor forgot to tell them I had arrived and was waiting in my car. Now whilst I was waiting in my car I seen a elderly Lady standing by the front door of the surgery for about 40 minutes, and standing in the teeming rain, I dont know whether she gave up and went away or what, But I do know that both her and myself would have been right to just go back home, because of the way we were treated, so not all no shows do it without good reason.
I go for my Covid jab next Wednesday, and I will be turning up, without any paperwork at all, although I thought you needed to show it. (the receptionist told me I dont need it).
One last point, the NHS has never been free, its free at the point of service, which means you should not be asked for money for your treatment, but we all pay into it.( well most of us, those who are able)
