What's your favourite deer meat?

As I'm sat here itching to get out and experience all that stalking has to offer I'm trying to put a list together in my list of what I want to go for giving I'm in it for the meat.

What's your favourite venison?

I went for Red but Muntjac would have been second.

I find it hard to choose because I love Sika, Red and Roe. If I had to choose one it would be Sika I think, but by a very narrow margin over Red and Roe.

We don't have the other species here but I'm sure they're great too.

It's all about how you cook it as well!

Looks like we have a mixed bag so far! But seems like red, roe and sika are all contenders. Saying that though having eaten muntjac as the only deer I've had the opportunity to stalk so far it made for some very tasty eating

CWD are excellent eating. Very soft/tender and with a layer of fat absent on other small deer which makes for great back strap cuts.

I've only tried muntjac the once. We had it BBQ'd and it was utterly superb. I eat mostly roe, but with an occasional red. I'd really like to try sika though, I've heard it's superb

It’s Fallow for me.

Never had Sika but of the rest, Muntjac would be unquestionably what I would opt for, followed by Roe.
