As yet have not worked my way through all relevant threads - so if there is a relent one I apologise and please point me to it.
I feel it is the right thing to work on non lead loads so I bought a box of Barnes 6.5mm LRX 127gr.
Current wisdom is to go lighter on mono non lead bullets, my only experience with lighter (120gr Norma BT) was they did not group well in my rifle.
Barnes data for this bullet does not reference RL17, RL16 & H4350 are quoted at 37.8gr at MV of 2616 and 37.7gr at 2595 respectively. The MV I think is slow - would like to see it somewhat over 2800fps.
Load for Sako 85 6.5x55SE 8 twist 22.4" sporter barrel (long throat) for deer stalking using 127gr LRX and RL17.
QL suggests this is possible at Barnes COAL of 2.985/0.185" clearance or jump in my rifle with pressure just under 50k psi using 44.2gr of RL17.
Grateful for any input here.
Thanks in anticipation
Alan
