New shooting venue near moreton in marsh glouc. Gl56 area

I am pleased to announce that I have secured a new venue for air rifle target shooting at a gorgeous venue near Moreton in Marsh, Gloucestershire. Woodland and pasture.

It will be a private club in the sense that it will be run by an individual thus avoiding all of the issues of a committee run club.

It will (eventually) be run on two basis...

The first will be an annual membership so you can shoot as and when (subject to any reasonable access restrictions set by the land owner) so long as a minimum of 2 people present one of whom to be RCO capable.

The other will be to cater for pay and play activities so people can come as and when or be taught if they want to try the sport.

To start, it will be more pay on the day from day 1.

This will be a grass roots start so equipment and infrastructure will be gradual and fees will change to reflect this so money can be invested and facilities developed continually.

If you are an existing shooter and are interested, please let me know.

Kick off clearly has to be Covid compliant so we cant shoot at present.

However, seeking numbers to start.

I am a promoter of shooting so if you, as an individual, like passing on knowledge and teaching others, then you get hero points

Well it isnt a traditional club with peppercorn rent. And people haveva heart attack if annual membership fee is proposed at 75 quid to eighty...

Plus I have - like many - seen all the politics and private agendas to last a life time.

It isnt the way clubs will survive tbh.

I love my sport. I will promote it and fight its corner and I love teaching too.

New blood is essential.

I shoot in a number of places one range is privately run, the other I'm on the committee, guess which is the most relaxing to shoot at

Several decades ago, I provided land for a field target club venture. They have now settled in at Purbeck Shooting School.

Yes thats no problem. Sales will be part of the development tbh. I will sort this when I have got things set up. TBH the two shooting forums I have posted on have not produced potential members I would need more than one hand to count on. Locsl residents forum has flooded me with novices. There is absolutely no nearby shooting ranges within say an hours drive and its been quiet from dedicated shooters. Must be no air rifle dudes or dudettes nearby.
