WHO and Government Vaccine Narrative I'm Confused

So the government implements stage 4 lockdowns. If we can save one life even if they are 104. Then you will take the vaccine so we can have your life back. Then people die of blood clots after they take the vaccine. Then it okay because people die of blood clots anyway.

All I remember is the WHO said human to human transmission of the SARS II was not human to human. I trust Dr WHO with my life.

Jesus Christ this is so messed up. I've never seen so much BS propaganda as the media, health authorities and politicians scramble to direct the narrative.

The claims are only against one vaccine, not all vaccines. That vaccine is proving highly effective based on the UK data. Vaccination and wearing face masks safes lives. But no likes having to be locked down to be fair.

The allegation has already been largely dispelled today by the EU's European Medicines Agency (EMA) to the effect that your risks are better with the vaccine than without. They will finish their review and formally report tomorrow. Their probably conclusion is that there is no correlation which is consist with the WHO and the UK government (who has already reviewed the data). So as you point out - ridiculous to raise such alarm.

The Australian Federal Government got vaccine orders in early - so it is a shame that a couple of those EU governments (Italy and France) are blocking vaccine shipments whilst casting dispersion at that vaccine. Especially since they both won defence contracts worth billions from Australia. Think you would want to look after your customers.

I wonder if it's anything to do with EU politics / brexit sour grapes. LOL.

Just a bit..

On covid in general though, I'm passed caring.
I've had one jab. I probably won't bother with the other and I intend to live as normal from now on. This will one day be seen as a parable of our overly cossetted times. We've never had it so easy. This is not the black death. It's not the western front in WW1, it's not Spanish flu.
Covid is over as far as I'm concerned. I've done my bit. Not doing any more or agonising about any of it.

First they scare every body witless that everyone is going to die. Then the conversation changed to lockdown so we can save just one life. Now the same media is scaring everybody with the blood clots on the vaccine. Now the government is saying no jab, no job. The narrative only works when they have the cohersion behind them, either the police to force lockdowns or the law to force people to take it or lose their job.

If we multiply that by 7 billion people that's 15,235 people who may get blood clots!! If we can save just one person.

15,235 is fewer than die of covid in a weekend. So your choice is between a day and a half's worth of deaths, or 6mths to a year's worth. I'd still go with choosing the small number.
Most of the fuss about blood clots is generated by a mixture of anglophobia and European politicians trying to deflect attention away from their criminal incompetence. Figures suggest that nearly two thousand Germans alone have died because of political bullshitting over Astra Zeneca.

Looks like Brexit was worth it after all.:coat:

I read that the number of blood clots reported amongst recently-(O-AZ)-vaccinated people is in fact lower per head than the number reported in the general population.
This.

I am due my first jab next week and shall not hesitate. Not only will it increase my protection from CV, but (statistically), also my risk of getting a blood clot.

It is "statistically" not medically you understand.

Ironically, I will probably get hit by and killed by a Rickshaw on the way there - which is again "statistically" more probable.

Got to love a stat.

At present waiting to get called for my second AstraZeneca vaccination...... absolutely no qualms about it. The chances of getting a serious adverse reaction or a blood clot are infinitesimally small. There is a similar risk factor with every drug/antibiotic that we use on a day to day basis. As Stalker1962 said above, there's more chance of getting run over on the way to the vaccination centre than having a serious and life threatening reaction. On the flip side, the number of people who have Covid 19 and develop life threatening deep vein thromboses and/or pulmonary emboli is significantly higher and often the reason for death or significant disability...... not much of a choice really.....
There are far more cases of DVT and PE every year due to long haul flights and sedentary lifestyles than the risk following on from vaccines, but we're all happy to go on long flights without a by your leave.

Its actually fairly simple, Corona is highly infectious and kills people, particularly elderly people so to protect them we’ve all been under house arrest for the last year. The only way to combat the virus is a thing called herd immunity, either by exposure or inoculation, Boris tried the exposure method at first and got his fingers badly burned when a lot more people than he’d planned for got sick and died. So he, and everyone else are now wetting themselves and praying that the vaccination solution works cause its all we’ve got.
The vaccine isn’t perfect, nothing is, so some people have got sick as a result of taking it, its still a heck of a lot better than getting Covid but nowadays that’s not good enough, people want guarantees and perfect solutions which dont exist, so the pay grades above us have decided that the proper thing to do is absolutely nothing....stay at home for another year rather than explain the situation to the general population and let us decide for ourselves whether to stay at home indefinitely or go get the needle.
Democracy in action innit?

Yes it is.

I totally understand where you're coming from, but I would encourage you to have the second jab. I have spent the last year or so examining many patients who currently have/have had covid. Its effects on the lungs can be scary at times, even occasionally among those with "only minor symptoms".

I'm not having a go, or trying to preach from my soapbox, and at the end of the day it is all just down to the individual. But the way I see it, we're all here because we enjoy our country sports, and protecting our lungs mean we can enjoy them for longer.

Basically the EU has ****ed up. They are trying to cover their arses because they balls up the vaccine procurement. I think this is entirely political, because even the European Medicines Agency is saying the vaccine is safe - the number of clots reported is below the normal background rate ffs, it's likely that the vaccine is protecting against blood clots which are a known side effect of COVID-19,

Vaccine procurement is probably the one thing that the UK Government got right in this whole COVID-19 saga and IMO, the first example of a positive Brexit dividend.

The EU really needs to get it's act together because the UK will remain vulnerable until the EU (and the whole world for that matter) has COVID-19 under control.

Do love a conspiracy.

Funny though. My wife (a non-conspiracy, apolitical, Covid Nurse) shares your views. :-|
