Trying to find a Steyr Prohunter firing pin spring

I have had a new 308 firing pin spring on order from the UK importer, The Sportsman, since September but no joy yet. Unfortunately Steyr won't deal with customers directly, so does anyone know any alternative sources of Steyr parts?
Or maybe someone has a spare or knows of a rifle being broken for parts?
Thanks in advance.

That's another great idea, thanks both.
I'd prefer to stick with factory parts if possible just for peace of mind, but it's good to know that having one made is an option.

You say that you would rather stick to factory parts. It's more than likely that Steyr don't make their own springs or screws and buy them all in from an industrial supply company.

Very true, but I just want to ensure all the various technical specs are correct to avoid unforseen problems. If it's a 'Steyr certified' spring it should work perfectly and last.
Incidentally, the current spring was over trimmed by an enthusiastic gunsmith which caused it to fail prematurely.

I feel for you.
It took forever when I needed a firing pin for my pro hunter, no one at SGC had any idea what anyone else was doing. Frustration does not come close to describing dealing with them.
First it took them months to send the wrong one and then even longer to get the right one.
Something I thought of after was that maybe I should have tried a supplier from Germany or some other country. I'm sure their service would be so much better, as long as they can send the parts to the UK.

Frustrating! As a long shot (!) there are a couple of SD chaps who live in Germany - next door to Austria, might one of them get the part for you easier than Sportsman?
Good luck.

I actually did originally order the spring around 2013 through the Sportsman but forgot all about it after a buddy made a compression collar so that I could keep on using the weakened one.
It was well over a year later when the Sportsman came back as said they had sourced a new one. Thinking my rifle was now fixed I said I no longer needed it.
Silly me!

It would seem that the problem is actually the Steyr factory, and not the Sportsman.
I emailed the factory to enquire about the whereabouts of the spring and ask for an ETA, and instead of emailing me back with answers (with maybe an apology for the delay?), they emailed the Sportsman to complain about my direct contact!
It's a shame as Steyr make quite nice rifles, but they seemingly won't support them with parts in a timely manner and owners with information. I wonder if other rifle manufacturers have equally poor after service?

I know it's not a steyr
I have a RWS titan. I wanted a target trigger for it
I was messed around by the importer.
I contacted Rosslar waffern. They could not have been more helpful. They sent the trigger as soon as payment was made . They said if I needed any help for parts contact them

UPDATE:
The spring arrived last week, so it took 10 months for a spring the size of a biro to agent here from Austria.
Ho hum.

Before I go through another agonising wait for the correct Prohunter firing pin spring to be sent from Steyr, it has become apparent that the SSG firing pin spring will also work. Does anyone have a spare to sell?
