Indeed there are mate I bought a 591 in 7-08 a few years ago it’s a cracking rifleThat really is a lovely thing
I just bought a very fresh looking sako m591 in 308. Blueing and woodwork in great condition, action is as tight as a drum. It’s shooting inch groups for fun. If you have the time and inclination and half a clue (half!!!) then there are some crackers out there for buttons.
My first CF was a BSA Monarch in a .243, I thought the world of it, that was circa 1975/6, I must have a look, I think I may still have the pamphlet that advertised it.....somewhere. I seem to remember a chap on the front in Safari kit and bush hat, I later changed it for the CF2 in .308, which had a set trigger system.Good morning gents
Having sold one of my 7mms to the bro in law I found myself with a spare slot , fancying another .270 I had a look on guntrader and bought this ..... 60 years old bsa monarch deluxe still in original case for £125 barely used , just sorting out scope options and I think I’m going to leave it unmoderated, there’s still bargains to be had![]()
I bought a M591 varmint in 22-250 Rem that I got rebarrelled into a 6mm BR. Lovely old school quality about the rifle. That really is a lovely thing

It was still running as the stocking shop when I left the BSA in summer of 1966, a 30-06 system with a shortened barrel got lost at that time, I heard it landed up not long after in a local canal. The BSA guns are still advertising as being located in Armoury Road but are only doing air weapons, I assume it was all broken up into smaller industrial units. I have never been back to the Golden Hillock Road area since.Wonder what happened to all the BSA employees who did rifle work.
Really hope they found fulfilling work after it folded.
Any ideas @Bavarianbrit ?
That’s a beautiful rifle, and a complete bargain....... lovelyGood morning gents
