I don't do Facebook I'm afraid, not a brilliant way to advertise his products is it?

I'm afraid I don't have endless funds to advertise and was hoping that word would get round in due course which it seems to have done. Development costs for the bullets themselves are pretty substantial in my terms and so I've had to use media that is free. I haven't sat and 'pimped my wares' on here for example as I don't pay for advertising so felt it was not right to do so.

so many questions so few answers ! was the target 25/50/75/100 on and on, what was the powder used, primer. if you want to get us interested please post all the information. this should include the product suppliers details the availability of the projectiles/bullets are other calibers ready to go or is this just a trial run with the 6mm bullets. photos of new unloaded bullets so we can see what they compare to .any load data worked up and verified.

the 6.5mm and .30 cal are in development and I would hope to have them fully tested within 3 weeks. Provided all goes well I should be able to do a production run fairly quickly after that.

Could you advise what weights you are offering in 6.5 and 7mm

Would it be possible to advise if these have drive bands to obturate and what the recommended twist rate to stabilise are for them

Also do you have predicted or actual BC of your products

The 6.5 will be 115 grain, haven’t designed a 7mm as yet. I won’t have bc’s until they’re tested.

I’ve had some fantastic results with this British Made 6mm Non Toxic Bullet made by Yew Tree Fieldsports (Wiltshire). Very impressed. Bullet is being pushed at around 3100fps. It weighs 80.5gr and is inherently accurate.

I would highly recommend anyone try these bullets in 6mm/.243 if you’re looking for a Non Toxic alternative.

Attached are photos of rounds pushed at 44.8gr and 45.0gr.

I asked as I ran an equivalent bullet through quickload and the results were interesting to say the least. Are you using a shallow seating depth for the bullet then?

It measures 2.056 to the o-give. So not really shallow no.

hopefully this works. This was the last roe follower I shot a couple of weeks back. 200 yards broadside. Photos inside and out once skinned and the animal after shooting.

I think they would have had terminal velocity at that range of 2,400 fps from a MV of 3100fps. For the majority of 6mm cartridges that mv is not really flat out. In terms of damage there is very little in any worthwhile edible meat but the bullets are frangible in the front end as previously mentioned.

Picture of bullet is on first page of this post. I would call them more machined recesses rather than drive bands as such but the basic principle is the same.

Viht quote max charge for a .243 win and 85 grain barnes tsx as 46 grains of N160 in .243 so Ben's load with a similar but lighter bullet seems perfectly sensible.

Some photos of ballistic gel tests and bullet fragments recovered for those that are interested. The smaller fragments were recovered in the water bag closest to the gel and fragments of increasing size recovered in bags 2 and 3. The bullet shank (50 grains) penetrated through the gel and 70cm of water.

Accuracy of these bullets is superb, developed a load for a few .243 rifles with 160, all group better than i thought i could shoot grouping 1/4 moa in an r8, r93 & sako.

Found 2 almost identical nodes in 3 rifles one around 3300fps and one at 3570fps but only investigated the lower one and pressure signs were evident not far after the high node with one rifle unseating a primer at 46.6gr where as the other 2 rifles showed little signs at and even beyond that.

I backed the jump in the rifle with the furthest lands to 66thou jump to match the BTOM to match other 2 measured at 50though and they still grouped 1/4moa so I've ended up with one load for multiple rifles.

I'm developing a load in n-150 but the initial load gets the job done so well it's on the back burner. Seriously looking forward to rich getting the 6.5's finished.

They seem to be fitting rich's aims perfectly, pretty frangible tip with a penetrating base, a fair bit of meat damage in some cases but that can be the trade off if you don't want them to run far.
