I am pretty sure these were taken with the 500mm, but could possibly have been the 300mm with the 1.4x teleconverter.

The options really boil down to either “more lens” or “get closer”!

Two of seven caught today on the Itchen. 4 browns. Sea trout. Grayling and Salmon

lost a lot more. Largest about 1 1/2 pounds

Also lost 7 flies in foliage. V difficult casting even when wading
