I got my new camera but not been anywhere to use it yet so I had a go in the garden and then put it in manual mode and had a play with long exposure on the main road. Some of the drivers thought I had a speed camera.road_dark-1.webproad_dark_2.webplog_2-1.webp

Some may have paid attention to where I mentioned chasing a wild dog up the paddock yesterday...I pondered at the time that the dog was either a bit lame or old as it didnt go "as hard as it should"

I tracked up the paddock today and found that it was slow on the trot because it had a full guts from gorging on this sambar calf kill.
The dog I saw was the b+t in the cow cam pic and no doubt it had its mate(s) with it as one dog cant handle a calf especially with the hind doing the stomp.

The calf has been towed up to the cow cam,the dogs will follow the drag and with half an ounce of luck step into steel.

Lovely shot of the robin. Reminds me of my french friends in the Languedoc. Early in our shooting friendship we sent the family a traditional Christmas Card with the usual holly, snow and the statutory robin on it. Next time we were over he produced the card and he learned the english name and I of course heard the french - “Rouge Gorge“ or red throat in english. In my best schoolboy french and in his incomprehensible rural french (absolutely nil english) there ensued a very animated conversation about these delightful birds. I explained as best I could the traditional Christmas Robin and there endearing habit of turning up just after a roe is shot etc… He of course gave me a very animated talk on their cultural position in the Languedoc. The highlight of this was his telling me that they were best barbecued in groups of five on a brochette (skewer) and served with salad!
You can guess what I think of every time I see a robin…….
