Petrol Panic Buying Observations

The garage is guaranteeing supply to the emergency services, cant get get a delivery on time and is losing sales, someone will be paying for that either the garage or the taxpayer? My point is the media need to stop trying to **** the country up for a story and get on side!
But they are not losing sales. They may not sell any for a few hours but they sold far more that usual the previous day and will like sell more lvolume per hour when they open again. No more fuel will be bought and sold when averaged out over a period of time.

Just hitched up the IBC tank and off to FortWilliam .If I go real slow I might make it on half a tank of fumes .

Just been out and thought I'd check whats happening in S wales. Local stations have massive queues and no diesel, local services on the dual carriageway have none either. Local village has diesel but is inundated (Grapevine) and is selling only £30 to each customer.
I am now convinced some smart*** said it would be a good idea to 'short' petrol supplies to get people to move to electric cars. What a shambles. In wartime people like the Newspaper magnate Lord Beaverbrook were drafted in to increase production and deliver intelligent processes. Boris obviously hasnt asked his Missus what to do yet !

Situation seems ok around here as folk seem to get on with their lives without believing all the drivel that is fired at them from the "experts" on the BBC/ITV - once again the News bulletins were full of the usual panic scenario and we're all doomed.......no doubt next week it'll be back to the usual cobblers about Brexit causing the end of the world as we know it and how Independence will make Scotland the land of milk and honey........🥱

I just managed to get some petroleum from Tesco garage this evening, and I don’t mean the water one.
Looks like my kids will be able to go back to school tomorrow! 🤣

I drove from Central London up the A1 to the M62.

Roughly half the filling stations on the north-bound carriageway were closed or had no fuel to sell.

The further north we went, the number of open stations increased and the length of queues diminished.
