Legality of 12 gauge blank trip wires

im not doubting the law is daft, but stories of scenarios to bend or break it arent needed.
trying to open sensible debate is the way forward, we should strive for balance
Where Packham and red flag wavers are concerned, thinking of 'balance' is a waste of time. Their attitude is similar to radicle Islamists.

I don’t think a few tongue in cheek comments will change the fact we fight a losing battle in fieldsports, you can change from lead, to copper, to gold and they will still come after us and win…

The badger issue is ridiculous and the laws on this needs to change - I can show videos from a trail cam of a family of 4 badgers in one spot, it’s the same with most of the species the do gooders have campaigned about - we now see 8 buzzards in one field at a time.

Maybe there needs to be harder discussions on it and the feeling of frustration need to be seen - the comments demonstrate this even though most are tongue in cheek.

I agree with 90% of this but I do not think we are fighting a losing battle!
I think that we should all be doing our part to change the face of this sport (which is not really a sport but a necessity for our countryside and wildlife) and ensure its future. If the shooting community fought with as much unity and passion as people like Chris Packham and his followers we would be I a much stronger position.

Whilst these comments are tongue in cheek they still portray a bad image and do us no favours.

we wont convince some, but the masses in the middle have little or no opinion on what we do, until they get fed bad press. we shouldnt be writing the bad headline for the antis!

Very few magpies hereabouts, must be an environment change over the past two years causing a severe reduction in numbers

no it won't...as they roam around when I am shooting foxes......part of nature :tiphat:

Bu**er came out and started crunching on a rabbit I had just shot using the .22/thermal, while I was not 25yds away shooting out of the top of the Def.
Nothing would move it, just sat there crunching the bones etc.

Why would a robot mower need headlights? 🤔

Indeed. The reason the manufacturers give is so that you can see the thing in the dark. Not sure I buy that though. Who walks around their garden in the dark without a torch?

I honestly admire your optimism, however, we never gain ground. We simply slow the loss of ground down now and again…it simply is not a popular pastime with the general public as all they see are a bunch of toffs shooting animals for fun. Most are completely ignorant to the process.

Do you ever think someone like Packam or gervais will ever say “oh yeah, I was wrong, go ahead…?

Consider setting out an electric strand around the perimeter and criss crossing the lawn, to deter, er, the rabbits, from digging up your lawn and eating your border flowers, etc, about a good fist height above the ground. They’ll give that a swerve the second time, guaranteed. They’ll probably tell the badgers to give the area a miss too.
