Should be a good month for me, how about you?

This month I have my first ever stalk (Roe) and my first driven game shoot (being a gun).

Next month is stalk number 2 for CWD.

Im counting my eggs a bit but I've got some Leonards Hunters Feast mix and some casings to make sausages if I bag a deer.

Both stalks have been arranged through TSD thanks to the classifieds.

The pheasant shoot came by knocking/calling about pest control which has been discussed in a recent thread. I didn't get the pest control I asked for up front but the keeper is having me as his guest on a shoot day to make up the numbers with another group of regulars. It's nice and close (under a mile from my house) and theres a possibility of a few roost shoots at the end of the season. So, it is always worth a knock.

I've only ever done rough shooting and pest control over the last 20 years so really looking foward to this month.

What have you all got book for the next month or so?

November is always a busy work month for me so not that much, probably just 3 days walk & stand at my regular shoot with bags of 20-30 birds.

Thats a nice mix.

I looked at boar in the forest of dean, as above I dont think ill have space to store the meat.

I am a gun on a small, self help, shoot, and beat/pick up on another, so that is six days taken care of. I will be out for a Deer at least four times, been eying up some Does today in fact. I sea fish once a week, so four or five days. Walloping some bunnies will take up a few evenings. Then there are Pheasants to feed and little jobs around the shoot, and my Bushcraft/Wildcamp will be getting some attention…………….Busy, busy boy. Retiring at 57 was a great move! 👍

Got a week off work - was out yest, out tomorrow, Friday and Saturday - all over the place.

Early starts, long drives, long walks, long drags - come home shattered, but love it.

Can sleep when Im dead.

🤞all

Sounds like a full diary.

Ive not been able to do any rabbit shooting for a while, theyve been very quiet around here.

Are you going after cod etc this time of year?

Now that is a good question, to be honest yes and no. A Cod would be a lovely bonus, but Bass, Whiting, Huss, Ray etc can also be caught, but the real bonus is just 40 mins from where I live on the edge of Dartmoor, I have a huge selection of wonderful coastline, so catching a nice fish supper is a bonus. Will also be trying for an estuary Flounder or two! But I just love being out, not being one to be sat in front of a telly. 👍👍

Ah, sound.

I didnt think of coastal fishing only because a bloke thats takes us shark fishing in the summer switches to cod fishin etc in winter.

I need to get up to the North Wales coast for some fishing.
