Both Lidle and Aldi but since they are owned by the same family carry very similar lines.

A thought for all the snobs, when on holiday abroad are you anything other than delighted to stock up on cheap wine, baguettes, cheeses etc from the local Lidle?

Either or to be honest.
They're fresh fruit and veg is up there and the German cold meats are a lot better than at usual supermarkets.

Oh and cheaper too, whats not to like 🤔

I'm not sure that is correct i think they are 2 separate companies, 2 brothers own aldi but they are divided north and south i think.

If I had to choose one it would be Lidl because of the instore bakery and the weekly offers and free stuff on the App. They're both next door to one another in our neareast town so would usually visit both when doing a big shop as Aldi reguarly have great offers too.

I prefer Aldi (their homegrown tonic in little yellow cans is excellent!) but our nearest is a Lidl so needs must…

If I’m not mistaken ‘German Giant’ IG Farben did something fizzy in a yellow can too…

None of them local to here, thankfully, so shopping in übermarkets isn’t much of a thing here.

I shop at most supermarkets from Aldi to Waitrose, just depends on where I’m working that day. They all have their own strengths and weaknesses.

Oooh, choices choices. Aldi do some really good steaks and the choice from the aisle of wonder is often fantastic. I have some superb LED torches and a few of their Workzone tools.

Lidl’s wine and spirit section has revealed some superb medal winning wines (they do a Rioja that is my absolute go to) but the best thing in there is the single malt whisky. Ben Bracken Islay and Ben Bracken Highland malts for £16.99 prove stiff competition for plenty of branded malts costing two or even three times as much.

Used to use Aldi alot but then Lidl opened up, massive carpark, always quiet so loads of space and no dented doors from mums with kids parking next to you.

Bakery section is a must, the white sourdough boule and the multiseed low GI loaf are great....the brownies, unreal.
