Omicron

there is evidence of immune evasion and that modified vaccines will be part of the solution.

Clearly required given this report...

So...why 3 or 4 shots of recipe #1 which produces antibodies demonstrated by this latest report to be evaded by Omicron, the now dominant strain?

And when I say "required", obviously I mean that the current vaccines are redundant. To be clear: There is no medically absolute vaccine requirement. Whether or not any individual might benefit from a vaccine remains a personal risk/benefit analysis.

Related: the govt has affirmed that 1-in-15 had SARS-CoV-2 by early Jan 2022. By now? Most of us?

My wife and I contracted the sniffles this week. Symptoms very mild for both, bar an uncomfortable headache for me and backache for my wife. LF domestic covid tests said negative several times intra week, but we stayed home anyway.

PCR test at a local test center yesterday came back covid positive and so we are in 10 day isolation as NHS directed.

Both of us have had worse colds in years gone by. Neither of us is incapacitated. Neither are seeking medical intervention. For my personal situation [retired but fit], and given my much tougher but equally successful tangle with the alpha variant in Q1 2020, I cannot find any argument for taking any supplementary medication, much less anything experimental.

The thread title is Omicron, you have for reasons unknown taken it into territory far removed
I remind you again, it was you that initiated this exchange with your demand that I explain the zeroed death rate in Japan, any digression from the thread title commenced at that point?

I believe you simply went off at half-cock having misinterpreted my question to @zambezi .

What have I claimed , that I havnt cleared up ?

Well my initial questions to your claims that I did not understand for a start:-

What position did I fail or even need to justify?
How did you risk being pedantic?
What is your definition /distinction between a demand and a question?
How is "Just tell us..." not a demand?
What difficult question did I not entertain?

But also perhaps you could substantiate the following claims? They are all supposition. None of which I recognise as representing my views or my posts.

it was a question you didnt like , because it made you realise that you didnt have an answer,
I had already answered the question in the only way possible.
because , as you well know , there is never going to be any proof
I certainly do not know there is never going to be any proof of what has caused the current low Japanese death rate and neither do you.
but thats obviously coincidence, as you are at pains to point out ?
Where did I say this?
You state that your position on ivermectin is clear, you don't think ir works,
Where and when have I said this?
The data for ivermectin use in Japan isn't available, if it was, you would say its unreliable,
How could you know what I would say? If it was reliable data why would anyone say otherwise?
because your confirmation bias refuses to accept it might be responsible for the rapid and sudden drop in japan's covid deaths.
What evidence do you have that supports this?

Alan

Dont worry. Everything is is going to be ok. You will get back to your safe space soon.

I despair at what UK society has become, full of absolute fannies.
Gosh, you have mellowed. fannies!

You called me bin juice a few months ago...and that was even when it turned out you agreed with what I had said about the causes of barrel wear!

Must have caught you on a good day.

I might very well have misinterpreted the angle of your question, but a normal person would have just brushed it aside , maybe even explained your position ? At which point I would indeed have apologised ....
But you didn't do that did you , two and a half pages of utter daftness later, and you still can't let go ....

What do you want for my SHOUTY AGGRESSIVE CAPS , and lack of ?? , me to go and throw myself under a bus ?
Your behaviour is irrational , nothing bad has happened to you Alan , move on .

It's about time the government gave us some genuine figures on actual deaths caused directly by Covid. Not this "died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid" rubbish. If you have died from any number of serious conditions, such as a heart attack or stroke but happen to test positive for Covid, you are linked with a death with Covid . This is a deliberate straight forward manipulation of the true number of deaths from Covid. For all we know 80% of these deaths could be totally unrelated to Covid.

Well we finally hit 100,000 cases per day. Depending on who you listen to, the Omicron could be 50, 75 or 80%. The elimination strategy however still seems to be implanted into some politicians heads.

Look at the UK's official annual death toll for 2020 and compere with the previous 5 years death toll . The extra deaths will give you a idea of how bad covid was. In the next few years the annual death toll may perhaps be inflated by the rise in those who never got treatment for their ills because of the covid. The figure for 2021 should be interesting. They could well show how many old people died a little before their time.

Whether or not any individual might benefit from a vaccine remains a personal risk/benefit analysis.
Unvaccinated, get covid = higher risk of going into hospital or onto ICU and higher risk of spreading because you'll have the infection longer
Vaccinated, especially the full course = lower risk of the above

The majority of people who are fit and have no co-morbidities will laugh it off with a, "'Tis but a scratch!" approach. But an awful lot of people won't. And the more of those people there are, the harder it is for hospitals to cope.

The vaccine is safe. Yes a few side-effects, tragic for the individual, as tragic as the fit 20-year-old who develops the same blood clots from the virus itself.

Some of you may find this interesting:

It is Joe Rogan’s podcast with Dr Robert Malone, which can be accessed FOC. I wasn’t keen on my kids getting vaxxed before listening to this, even less so now (although they are vaxxed and had no side effects).

Twitter booted him off the other day for misinformation.
Bare in mind many 'facts' about covid are debunked mere months later, who are twitter to say what is misinformation or not.
Social media has played a big part in our attitudes to covid, and spent much time branding speculation as false, via their on board 'fact checker' speculation that often turned out to be true.
One example being the blood clotting, or myocarditus issue, which turned out to be a real issue.

Being silenced on Twitter was discussed extensively. As was the fact that Reuters is often used as the fact checker of choice when the CEO of Reuters is on the board of directors for Pfizer.
There is something strange going on in the world. I don’t know what it is but I don’t like it. CNNs treatment of Joe Rogan when he revealed that he had covid and had taken a cocktail of drugs including ivermectin afterwards is one example. The lie that hospitals were full of people who had overdosed on ivermectin (they were not) was repeated on CNN. Joe’s announcement, which he released on Instagram, was shown on CNN but the colour was altered to make him look really ill. Why the lies? What is the agenda?

Yes a few side-effects, tragic for the individual

There's the rub.

How many individuals? The recent whistle-blower from the US CMS said VAERs under reporting is at least 5x.

And how many are likely to be impacted years from now after we have a comprehensive body of data on all long-term effects?

Mitigating hospitalisation numbers and mortalities is key to societal structure, no question.

But there is now very strong evidence that these vaccines are not the only gateway to achieving that.

All I know is after all 3 jabs covid spent 5 days kicking the proverbial out of me whilst the mrs had a couple of headaches and a small cough.
But it refuses to go sore eyes ,headache and feels like your standing on my chest then nothing. You think I'm getting better and wallop it's back.
13 days now 4 positive lateral tests and1 pcr test.
Whereas the mrs symptoms are nothing but a cold .
Stay safe and be kind to each other.
