Seen it a couple of times. Some of them are pretty static in their habitations, works both ways allegedly.i wonder how many times hes has heard of it being tested?

This letter was printed in the Sunday Telegraph today. The references to the shooting of foxes are not only anti-shooting in tone but factually incorrect. If this person's views are typical of the average hunt supporter can anyone explain why we shooters should support hunting?

Not sure you can legitimately claim that a fox died instantly when it’s chased by a marauding pack across a few fields![]()
But what about the pheasants. That's what you were complaining about wasn't it? Two or three dead munties make little difference to anything IMO. Plenty more came to their funeral I'm sure!
Sorry for late reply, been shooting today as well. Birds in the woods concerned scarce compared to what was expected or seen on feed rides, this late in the season they're as jumpy as hell. Hounds certainly did me no favours. But what about the pheasants. That's what you were complaining about wasn't it? Two or three dead munties make little difference to anything IMO. It died of a severe bite to the back of the neck but it did have underlying health problems.Ah, but did the fox die "with" running or "because of" running?![]()

In fact,we blanked gamecover into one wood, straight through to push birds into next wood, shot that that one to get the numbers expected.
Two deer killed is lost revenue, not much granted but still lost!
All in all, not happy state of affairs.
On shoot today chatting with guest guns, appears we're not the only place with gripes. New huntsman this season, seems he needs to get an O.S. map out and start learning his country![]()
Woods concerned are an average of three fields off actual boundary line. I hand-feed every two days. Hoppers everywhere they're needed. I don't dog in the neighbours. I'm a professional who's good at my profession or I'd have been fired.Have you told the hunt that there deer are hunting deer ? As to pheasant not returning to the woods you answered your own question pheasants went back to feed rides, obviously a shortage of food there to hold pheasant, why are you trying to hold pheasants on your boundary anyway, or do you dog in the neighbours land, which if a neighbour would **** me off, if you are driving the birds back to the middle of your shoot like you should be the hounds have done you a favour.
Anyway this thread is now being kept going by the usual anti fox hunting members

Please bear in mind that the hounds had our dates when I get them, generally in May whilst incubator is full.
Not chasing Charlie, just out trespassing on
No problems.Sorry I misunderstood imagined woods on boundary.
Totally agree, I think if they were given to option of banning shooting in the 90's so hunting could continue, we would be slung under the bus without a thought"Just remember" !
Yes I do. I remember how they said shooting foxes was inhumane and that they were "often only wounded" by shooters.
Happy to throw us lot under a bus.
I remember it well.
Hounds will hunt anything you train them to.
I have trail cameras to cover entry points in my woods, I have the estate pretty well covered. Never have I caught a hunt servant laying a trail.Just asking an utterly thick question. Surely if they were trail hunting why did the trail go anywhere near to areas where hunt has been asked not to go.
Frankly reading the sort of behaviour and lack of respect for others property and livelihoods its not surprising that hunts have had a hard time with the legislators and getting local support.
Greenmist, you're not getting the point, it's not a question of banning one field sport to save another. When hunting falls the anti-field sports mob will start on the next one down the packing order. If you remember all the matches to London by pro field sports supporters to try and stop/overturn the hunting with dogs ban, you must also remember that it was a real cross-section of all folks that partake in-country activities, we had hunting folk, shooting folk, fishermen and even a lurcher chap that ****ed of more than one of the keepers that sat on our coach down to London. We stood united on those marches and we still should!Totally agree, I think if they were given to option of banning shooting in the 90's so hunting could continue, we would be slung under the bus without a thought
