The future Queen of England

Is it not "Queen Consort" - and is there any difference between that and "Queen"?
I honestly don't think the Princes will be bothered.
The reports I've heard are that they have a decent relationship with Camilla and are happy that their dad is happy
It's simply not a big deal for them - not should it be for any of us - although it's a 100% certainty that the Daily Express will use it as an excuse to put a photo of Diana on their front page

Cheers

Bruce

I was just going to comment, Ginger Harry and his manager Merkle won't like that at all.
I had time for Harry, prior to his dick taking over from his brain. I can see her having a problem with it.

If you had asked me around Diana’s untimely death should Camilla be Queen or Queen Consort. I would have said no, not sure a HRH even.

However over the years she has shown that she is every bit deserving of her position. She does the working Royal job well and I don’t think withholding any title because she’s a divorcée is appropriate. Because society has moved on from the days when marriage was THE thing you did.

Charles knew Camilla long before Diana came on the scene but mummy didn't think she was Royal enough so he was obliged to wed the Spencer woman instead.

..actually in 2021 have much relevance to most of us. Save one. One very important one. That the armed forces and the police AFAIK swear allegiance to the monarch and not (the former) to the Prime Minister or to (the latter) to the Home Secretary.

We have a monarchy probably as we've always had one save in the mid-17th Century and because it's less insidious that what might replace it if we didn't.
Notwithstanding it is 2022 (keep up EFS!).

The Armed Forces and the Police do indeed swear allegiance to the Monarch. I swore in both Services.

The modern Monarchy is (in my view) the least worst option, of all the others.

For the 'prick' who described her, on the 70th anniversary of her reign, as a 'vile old parasite' ...

I am a firm believer in freedom of speech (even from behind the safety of your computer @norcan) so permit me some free speech of my own.

Go fcuk yourself @norcan.

Admin.

My apologies.

Please feel free to ban me.

The Queen went way up in my estimation when she paid a visit to Ireland back in 2011, I remember at the start of a speech she made at one official dinner held in her honour she addressed the guests which included our President in Irish. And she nailed the pronunciation which was very, very impressive.

She did a very relaxed walkabout in my native city of Cork and won the hearts of the ordinary working class people who she went out of her way to acknowledge. She did a tremendous amount of good for anglo-Irish relations with that visit.

I feel sorry for her for what she is going through at the moment with that clown of a son Andrew, I think when she does pass away which hopefully won't be anytime soon it will be the beginning of the end of the monarchy.

Panic over lads, it's going to be "Queen Consort", not "Queen", according to the 6 o'clock news on radio 4 this evening. You can all breath freely again.
Agreed, Queen Consort she will be. However, she will be referred to as Queen Camilla.

Interestingly, Philip was a foreign prince who renounced his own titles before his marriage to Queen Elizabeth II. He was given the title of Duke of Edinburgh but there was discussion on how he would be titled post-marriage. Apparently, he turned down the Prince Consort/King Consort titles and he was made a Prince of the United Kingdom and then became known as The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

And Queen Victoria was married to Prince Albert, whose title was Prince Consort, not King Consort.
