Absolute steal of a rifle here!

These were the precursor to the Remington 700, very well made rifles from the glory days of Big Green (Remington).

This would be a $500+ gun stateside due to the collectors market. It probably has the original 1:14 twist barrel on it still which would add value, even if worn out. Could be dated exactly if so.

Note the reciever is side drilled for an apeture sight.

The fact it comes with a wee scope is a bonus!

If I didn't have a Sako Vixen in .223 I'd be running over to buy this!

There's a guy at my gun club that has a 722 in 300 Savage , a very cool little rifle and cartridge . I like my 725 a lot more . It's as old as me and still shoots well under one MOA , it makes me wonder what it shot like when it was new . The 721/2's weren't a high end rifle , but , if they're in decent shape , generally shoot very well .

I’ve got a 722 222 my maternal grandfather bought new in 1958 . He killed a pile of groundhogs and hawks with that rifle . Also one big darn 6 point whitetail , deer still has a 24” spread after fifty years . I happened to be there when he popped that deer in the head at about 105 yards in the temple with a 45 grain bullet .
