shamina begum

And if the endgame for ISIS had been different would she still want to return to the UK? I don't believe most of the "rot" the Home Office peddle but I think Ms Begum is not as innocent as she might wish to seem. And for sure she's being handled well with her change of attire to vest tops and baseball caps. No matter how much you dress them up, coach them, put them in smart clothes be it Begum, or indeed Tommy Robinson, both guttersnipes Be that as it may let her rot. And when, as he inevitably will, again when Robinson goes to prison let him rot too. Opposite sides. Same coin.

She was 15 when she made the decision to leave. I know I did some pretty stupid stuff at 15 (I never left the UK to join a terrorist state mind you). I don't know enough about her to say whether she is a victim of the circumstances she found herself in due to decisions made when she was but a child, or whether she is a dyed in the wool terrorist.

Some people change, others don't. Hopefully whoever makes the decision to either leave her to her own fate or bring her back to the UK is better informed on her intentions and behaviour than I.

A difficult one this. Clearly more people have an opinion than the 3 who commented in the first 3 hours that this has been on here. People who know me and where I have spent some of my life will think my thoughts are odd, but I'm rather in the same camp as Dave31. She was a silly little 15 year old girl when she got sucked in by terrorists. Was she a terrorist herself though? There are a lot of people living free life within these shores who IMO have done a lot worse than her whilst they were adults!
For what it's worth (Sorry Enfield) I don't think that Tommy Robinson has been fairly treated at all either. His treatment has been totally illegal but barristers won't touch him because of fear or reprisals so he goes unprotected, despite it being the right of everyone in this country to be entitled to legal representation (and freedom of speech)!
Remember, it's all about opinions. You don't have to agree with me.

We will never win anything when we are the only ones playing by the ‘rules’ ….. she must be laughing all the way to the airport ! We as a society must take a serious look at ourselves and start to think about the victims of the actions of these people and forget the needs of of terrorists whether they be actual or wannabes !!!

And what happens when the traitorous bitch decides to do the same again in a couple of years time, as I'm convinced she will. Leave her to rot.
Well I would hope that she monitored and I get that it would cost us money to do so. Clearly if she stepped out of line she would be sent to jail but in this country (bar the 100 ish with whole life sentences) people usually get a second chance at life. Doesn't she deserve that? She's certainly suffered more than most so must surely know that she made a terrible mistake?

Personally I think it’s very difficult to judge.
There are as said above far worse people here in the uk.
I think if we let her back it will make us look weak. Don’t let her back and then we are a horrible country.
Either way the outcome is crap.

The country has already wasted enough money on this case. Lots of kids could have been fed instead of starving

The age of criminal responsibility is 10. Even an idiot of 15 knew perfectly well that joining ISIS was an evil decision, and it's not like she regretted it as soon as she found out what it was really like.

I am confident that the amount of taxpayers' money that has already been squandered on this bint's case far exceeds the amount needed to have saved numerous more deserving lives.
Whether she deserves care or not, there are many others who deserve it more.

When you get sucked into a CULT, its very difficult to break free, both physically & mentally. Not many people manage to break those chains, there is always a part of you that is still there.

Yes, but they are not treated as adults until over the age of 17. At 15 the brain isn't fully developed and susceptible to outside influence and grooming.

What I am saying is she was a kid when she made the decision. She may be a fully fledged s4ithouse deserving of everything she gets, or she may be somone who was influenced at a vulnerable age by an organisation which has specialised in influencing young Muslims into buying into their particular brutal belief system.

I don't pretend to know, but I think she should have the chance to defend or explain her actions and be judged accordingly by the qualified and informed.
