I'm not one for banning things stuff for the sake of it, nor am I a proponent of those who make a habit of 'complaining' about stuff they happen to disagree with. In this case though, I think it's a good call. Even back in the 80's I personally found this idiot crass, offensive, misogynistic, racist, and homophobic. In 2023 though, and given the moral turpitude that now appears to invade the masses, the last thing anyone needs is this dinosaur clinging onto the premise that his 'humour' is in any way relevant and appropriate. It's not 'woke' or 'snowflake' in any way whatsoever to deny this moron any forum to propagate his crap. Good call, say I . . . .

 
I think I found him funny the first time around, but not really since. Just more of the same.

But the issue here is whether we should ban stuff because we don't like it - for whatever the reason. And the firm answer is "NO". If you find that he's past his sell by date, or "crass, offensive, misogynistic, racist, and homophobic" then don't watch him/go to see him. If everyone else thinks the same, his career will die a natural death. But if there's people still going to and enjoying his performances, then who are we to stop them?

Next thing, they'll be banning shooting....
 
I saw him once in Blackpool in 1992 when I was 22, found him amusing at the time. You did not want to be sat in the first few rows, but you knew what you were going to see and expected to get abused if you got up for a pee.

If everything that was offensive to someone gets banned, no one would be allowed to do anything.
 
I've never heard of him, to be honest.

I'm not keen on the "ban culture", but by the sounds of things the guy is well beyond his sell by date, and society is better off without his type of "humour".

Must admit i never found him funny even back in the day.
here's a contraversial 1 esp for a scotsman, just never really found the 'big yin' billy connelly funny either, there was a best of thing on the other week and watched bits and bobs and really just don't get him at all.
And hes in stiches at his own joke on parky or something and not even that funny

I do like Franky boyle, who used to come out with some truely horrendous shocking stuff at times, not that u see much of him nowadays, not exactly very pC althou like most comedians he does really hate the tories so always good for the odd panel show slot.

I'm another 1 just don't get the banning thing, if u don't like it don't watch it just don't see the problem.
Esp nowadays when u have literally hundreds of channels plus the internet and u don't even have to get up of ur arse to cange the channel or even look for the clicker now can just speak to the tv do da and it changes channel for u.
So why would u watch something that offends u longer than the time it takes u to change the program.

With roy chubby brown not as if going to be any big shocking surprises ( al la crying game type thing) it will be full on swearing every 30 seconds

Different story back in te day when u had only 4 channels and had to actually get of ur sea to change channel, sometimes u could watch some right dross as too lazy to get up and walk to tv.
Nowadays no excuse for watching something that offends u
