Where are these new pictures Rhinoshot? , you may have seen from my posts i use claire fowler at freedom taxidermy and so do many others on here.
I'm sure she would be happy to resurrect your messed up muntjac but you will need a new cape and i see Wilfowler1 has offered you one if required.

Good Luck,

Oh she is far from perfect!!! I got my money back off her after I threatened legal action with a CWD buck she managed to screw up but felt no need to explain or apologise, just posted it to me and denied anything was wrong. I wouldn’t use her ever again!!

See post 64 👆 she’s not always on top form…. (See what I did there…)

Wow! An OLD THREAD but maybe not as old as that muntjac appears! It must be the world's oldest muntjac from the look of it! Where was it shot? On the way to the local Post Office to collect its old age pension? Or maybe pick up its one hundredth birthday telegram from H. M. Queen?

A couple of years ago I shot a magnificent specimen of a dog fox in December of the year. He weighed in at, if memory serves, at about 35 or so lbs. He had 'removed' a number of geese from a farm I shoot over. I was so impressed with it rather than drag it back to the farm, I carried it. Once back at the farm and showing it to the farmer he layed it across the bonnet of his Isuzu Trooper. It's muzzle lay hanging over one side and the 'brush' drooping over the other. Lovely thick coat, deep rich red with black markings, big head, perfect teeth and a superb bushy 'brush' ! So impressed was the farmer he said he'd have it fully mounted upon a log maybe, mouth open (not snarling), in trot. I was so looking forward to seeing it finished and taking pride of place in their farmhouse, as were they....!
Well, this is what eventually turned up..! 😱😬.

Lost for words, bet your farmer wasn't - would love to have watched the handover !!

Best argument for a ban on exporting trophies that I can think of.

Afternoon 'TG'. I understand the handover was 'colourful'...! You will note that 2 photos are in their farmhouse (after he rang me to come around), the other two are in my house.......after I'd arrived home with it. They couldn't bear to be looking at it, unsurprisingly ! I 'shifted' it for them. Can you believe it someone gave me £190.00 for it ! Farmer was delighted though still well out of pocket.
I did have a photo somewhere of the 'original' fox, but I can't seem to find it, but it really was a beauty, you couldn't even see where it had been shot. I get the feeling the 'taxidermist' (😆) had reserved that one for someone else and utilised a 'roadkill' replacement for my farmer. You can even see the impact damage and tread marks from the tyres...😆🙄. I subsequently shot another, nothing approaching the appearance of the first tho', and they had that done which 'looks the part'....happily.

Regards,

'Camodog'.

35lb in weight, the returned fox looks like it was anorexic. No where near a true reflection of its condition upon dispatch. A bit like blackpools Madam Tussauds.
Yup, DEFFINATLY not the same fox ! Barely half the size. I am not a 'full-time' fixer by any means, but I have shot plenty in 55 + years of shooting and that particular dod fox was by far and away the most spectacularly marked and conditioned fox I'd ever come across. I did have a photo somewhere but I'm darned if I can find it..🙁.
I shall ask the farmers son if he maybe has a copy and if so I will 'post' it here.
