I have Noticed that everybody avoids the muntjac kid comment!? Obviously nobody shoots female muntjac anymore

I hope the hind/doe season gets extended or even better opened full stop!

I’ve told them exactly what i think and need to sort this out and get a grip and get the law changed so me can get on!

Don’t think many really have nor would want to and happy doing what they do to the best of their ability and means which for most will be limited given the numbers suggested and what may be ahead. Guess some may feel pressured into moving with the times resulting in employment and access.
Good some have the stomach and the will but think the deciding factor will be more booties on the ground been paid to do a job with as you say no season restrictions and by whatever means heavy culling for few years.
So many people with a interest in deer which seem to be or have been in conflict.
Don’t think it’s about deer stalking now as many think of it or are capable through no fault of their own, a different game Is afoot it seems, with a budget and plan too suit.

Im too honest for that job!
Unfortunately there’s been too many years of bull**** surrounding deer that have put us in the mess with the herd species that we have now!
We should’ve had extended female seasons five years ago then we wouldn’t be in the mess that we are in now it would’ve only been as simple as Shooting females to the end of April and extra month!
But to be fair you also have those stalkers that won’t kill deer for a pound a kilo because it’s not worth their while, because there’s no money to be made out of it!
I realised 10 years ago if not 15 years ago as a younger Stalker that there is no money in shooting deer and never has been, it’s always been beer and bullets money nothing more!
The money is made by taking clients!

IT WILL eventually come to the point where ‘those’ who can do and WILL do, will be called in to do the job and best practice will be slung on the fire!

Not because there's anything wrong with his point of view, but it is somewhat biased towards killing deer, which isn't what the BDS is all about. The remit of the BDS is wider reaching than that, so requires someone with a somewhat broader outlook.

Why do they?
A response to the consultation along the lines of "deer need killing, let's crack on with it" is going to gain precisely nothing. In fact, it would probably be discounted as the ravings of a bloodthirsty lunatic.
If you want your response to count you've got to dress up what you want to say in the way that they want to hear it. Get your point across by all means, but in a palatable and justifiable way. We are, after all, hoping that some public money is going to flow into stalkers' pockets as a result of this.
Incidentally, when completing the consultation questionnaire, how many of you ticked the box requesting anonymity?
(And if so, why?).
Not at all, but someone who is interested in deer welfare, biology, ecology, habitat, species, research, diseases, breeding, history etc etc over and above mere killing. It's not a shooting organisation.Exactly someone who is more fluent in arse scratching and bullshite!
