The end of lead = the end of 22LR?

A likely outcome of the end of lead ammo will be the end of 22LR as a viable calibre, among other devastating effects on the dying industry of shooting?

Discuss.

Nope not all, I’ve been changed over to non toxic exclusively for a while now on one of my 22‘s finally used the norma segmented, out tonight 23 so far all headshot all dead, I did run a few other brands some I must say we’re atrocious, find one your 22 likes and order a batch up and carry on, I have had no dramas with mine after throwing out the rubbish ones

that gives me hope, but the price?
Aghhh forgot that bit, from memory they weren’t the cheapest ones in the shop, I tried out as many as possible at first and got a wheelbarrow load of them norma segmented to be honest they were the best of the lot

these were at 50 yds, re zeroed one 22 and they shoot pretty the hollow point norma in my anschultz and blaser were strung out badly

Hi Can you share a bit more info.
What rifle do you use?
What's the twist rate?
You say norma segmented were good, which brands didn't work in it?

The twist rate issue deserves highlighting, its simply not good enough for the HSE to glibly claim that non-lead ammunition is available as in many cases it will be unsuitable for barrels in that calibre. As the HSE proposals mention a potential buy back on ammunition I believe that this should extend to rifles in the rimfire calibres if they are rendered functionally obsolete and at a high enough level to enable a c/f of near equivalence to be purchased.

All of the lead free offerings are all around the 1700 ish fps and about 21-23 grns
This is a problem for me as I need quite , it’s why I tolerated the .22LR .

I tried the Norma and the CCi in my anni 1416 with 18” 1/14 twist and It was shameful .
In the end I gave in wasting money on .22LR and ditched them all .
I now use a far more suited tool for the job .
