Firearm certificate holder moves permanent address, Holder books in on a firearm event with his old cert from another county force at an address he no longer resides at, is he committing an offence?
Same person buys primers / powders / loaded ammunition with the old cert any offence?
I fail to notify my change of address to Swansea re licence & logbook, I am committing offences?

I'm still waiting for my new tickets following change address/police farce 12 months in. The new force told me to continue using the old one. Dorset/D&C.

No. The certificate certifies that the holder is allowed to have firearms. It is not to certify his address, added to which a person's address is no business of the event management.

No. As above. Nobody in the shop has any business knowing where you live, and I've always thought it a bloody stupid security breach for the police to print it on certificates. Wholly unnecessary.

Yes. (Assuming "Swansea" is the relevant authority you should notify.)

Provided you have notified your FLO of change of permanent address without undue delay in accordance with the conditions of your FAC I cannot see why it would be a problem. The FLO will presumably let you know what you need to do for replacement documents...My FAC has failure to comply maximum penalty: six months imprisonment and/or fine

DVLA were also pretty grumpy about change of address on Driving Licence and Log book..."if you do not update your address you could be fined"

Quite right!
You've carried out your obligation which is to inform the issuing force of your change of address. While often the force covering the area you now reside in will issue a replacement certificate there's no requirement for them to do so as your existing certificate from your previous force area is still valid.

Send them an email and say “I’m chasing this up as I haven’t heard from you when I sent it back last year via post” 🤫😇😂

(Tongue in cheek)

My answers would be no, no, yes, assuming you did inform the feds as soon as practicable with a reasonable explanation if it was more than 7 days.
DVLA are about as competent as a bunch of monkeys - I asked for a V5 for a tractor I bought and advised of the reg number - 15 years ago - no reply, as of today.

Exactly this ^^^
Your obligation is to inform them of the change of address. Whether or not they choose to provide you with an amended cert is up to them.
Provided you've complied, the FAC is still valid regardless of the address that's printed on it.

In effect, I could have my address as platform No; 2 & a half, behind the hot water pipes, Fairy town station.
Well if that's really the previous address that's printed on your FAC then I'm sure your new area force will be only too happy to issue you with an updated certificate.

It's an offense not to update your driving license with new details - up to a grand fine I think. I got stopped one night on way back from solwaystalker's and got a stern talking to for having not updated mine (and I'd been moved about 6 months). The copper kindly let me off as he was more interested in sorting the speeding ticket 😢😢 Worth remembering that you still need to update your V5 and driving licence separately with DVLA - so bloody antiquated!! If you don't then tax reminders etc go to your old (V5 address). Don't ask me how I know...

As for FAC, as others have said, no offense having an old certificate as long as you informed your old licensing team within 7 days that you moved. New licensing authority will be in touch and replace it when they're good and ready ;)

If you have time to book on events and buy primers etc I would suggest it would be difficult to argue that you don't have time to inform the police - therefore you are failing to comply with the conditions of you certificate. Not sure of what you would be charged with, if anything but could be grounds for your FAC being revoked.

And there you hit the nail on the head, they were informed in April, along with a notification of a disposal / one for one, which landed back here with a request for £20.00 , that went back with the little nugget of information of , One for One's are charge free. ...............................................................

If you complied with the condition on your ticket, ie. you informed them within good time etc, then no offence is committed.
It took my new county a while to sort a new cert, in the mean time I had acquired several items, much to the surprise of the flo who came to check my details as none of them werere on the new certificate they had brought with them. 😅

Steve, I assume that it was the force that issued your FAC (Cheshire) that was informed of your change of address and not the North Wales force in whose area that you now reside.
Also, that as there hasn't been a replacement certificate issued by North Wales that the notification and variation was made to Cheshire police.
