I have to say I'm surprised that is just making headlines in the UK . It's been a very controversial subject out here for some time now . There is a pellet making facility west of me , it does supply a large part of the Alberta market as well as Drax . The difference being , no one here is under the delusion that burning wood pellets is a green solution . We switched , and are in the process of converting our coal fired plants to natural gas . Burning wood to generate electricity isn't efficient , and in this case , is based on a lie . It started out as a good idea , and would have been viable on a smaller scale . Once the government starts throwing billions around in a virtue signalling frenzy , the sharks start circling . As usual , when large amounts of cash are involved , things get sketchy fast . The green movement has made billions of dollars available to anyone who can even remotely claim that they're a green company . To think that this wasn't going to happen is simply naive . Unfortunately , this isn't the only case of " Green " fraud inflicted on the public , which , I might add , is being subsidised with your tax dollars ................ and now they're raising your electrical rates . If I was still in Britain , I would be ****ed off .
