meopta optika6 3-18x56 anyone own one? I have a Delta Titanium HD 2.5-15 x56 on my rifle at the moment and to be fair I do like it. Its good low light etc really and for the price i paid for it a few years ago they are a few hundred pound more these days.

But been looking at these meopta optika6 and wondered if it would be an upgrade or downgrade. Id like to get a new scope to play with in FFP and if I’m not happy I can always stick the Delta back on and I haven’t broken the bank.

Anyway any advice on the meopta optika6 would be welcome.

cheers

I couldn't comment on low light. Great clear image, reticle & illumination but FFP is quite heavy (1140g?) and magnification increases clockwise.

Yes I have the 3-18x56 on 1 rifle and the 4.5-27x56 FFP on my other rifle.

For the money they are a great scope, infact they are a great scope regarless.

I replaced 2 Schmidt and Bender PMII's with these. Obviously not as well built as the Schmidt's but glass wise you would be surprised how close they were considering.

I've also got both of these scopes. I dropped two Sightrons for these as the glass is much better. Imported them from the US on a special deal, tremendous value for money.

They dial perfectly and hoover up the light at dusk. The 4.5-27 FFP has the illuminated MRAD1 RD reticle which is an outstanding long range varminting reticle. I'm currently using it on a .223 Rem Tikka Super Varmint and connecting with bunnies at some crazy distances. Love it.

I used to have a Delta like yours and wanted a scope with as good or better glass that had better turrets and better ret. I looked through a lot of scopes including the Optika6 3-18. The one I looked through was the 50mm. In my opinion it would no way replace the Delta, narrow FOV and not easy to get behind on full mag. Yes the picture was clear but I just didn’t like it. I went for a Meopta ZD in the end. I almost went for a Vortex viper PST gen2 which was way easier on the eye than the Optika6 but I wasn’t keen on the SFP ret. Vortex also had better controls.
Again it was the 50mm version so not sure how this would affect exit pupil and FOV compared to the 56mm.
If you don’t mind 34mm tube and more weight, the Arken SH4 4-16 was way better than the Optika6. I tried them side by side.

Hello,
I'm wondering how the Delta Titanium HD 2.5-15x56 and the Meopta optika6 3-18x56 SFP compare when used with Pard 007 (s).
@Jamesy13 did you maybe try that Vortex whit Pard?

No I’m afraid not. I do hear good things about the Delta and the Pard and have also heard on other forums that the PST doesn’t work so well with it. No personal experience though.

I have been doing some freelance work with Meopta for a few years now and that gives me the opportunity to test new products and then give my feedback. I started out using the Optika6 3-18X56 RD SFP BDC 3 on a .17 springer air rifle to see how well that would work. I get a lot of questions from guys who shoot rimfire/airgun matches and want big magnification and close in parallax adjustment. Well, 500 rounds later, zero issues with the scopes ability to withstand the springer action and the reliability. My next choice was to go the other direction in caliber, .375 H&H. 5.5lb Custom Brown Precision rifle that has become my favorite feral hog hunting rifle. 60 rounds of .375 and again no issues. Personally, I would choose the 50mm obj, but if the 56 is what is available, buy iy. Meopta's name is getting more and more traction in the shooting world everyday and that's because they make a quality product for a fair price. The #1 complaint I get is I can't find what I want or I'm on a waiting list and do you know when it'll be in stock. I don't do any sales, I just try to answer questions and help guys make the right choice for their needs. Jamesy13, I am also a huge ZD fan, they just happen to be discounted right now which is the first time I have seen that happen. Great reading all the positive comments you guys have about Meopta products, I know you put them tot he test and expect them to perform everytime.

I have two, both 3x18x50 and FFP to work with a PARD.
They're good value and I like the dichro crosshairs- though I'd get one IR if I were doing it again.
Glass is not as good as the ZD at twilight but 1/2 the price.
The throw lever is a good size and, if you work that way, having the mag printed so that it faces you when in use is a nice touch.
Good click correction repeatability, though 7mm increments will be considered crude by some.

NB The zerostop is a nice touch- if it works. I bought mine three months apart and they have two different zerostop mechanisms, one works, one does not, and Meopta are aware there is an issue.

Hi Geoff, a bit of an old thread resurrection here, but why would you now go for IR instead of the Dichro reticle? I ask as I'm considering both and cannot see before I buy.
Thanks.

I’ve a 4.5-27 sfp version on one of my rifles and it’s great, great low light and crystal clear right upto full mag, I’m looking to buy another in summer for a new rifle

Happy to help- I do a lot of first/last light fallow shooting with a PARD attachment and then you can’t make out the dichro crosshairs easily whereas the IR you can. In fact I swapped both dichros for IR since that post

If you’re happy to come down from Banbury to high Wycombe you’re welcome to come and take a look through a x18 and a x27

Thanks Geoff, I may well take you up on your kind offer.
I have just ordered am Optika5 2-10x42 PA Zplus that I plan to use for ratting with a Ward add on. If it doesn't suit then I will upgrade to the Optika6 2.5-15x44 and was undecided between the Dichro and illuminated BDC reticles. Whichever works best with an add on would suit me best. If it does work well, then an upgrade to a Pard 007SP could be a possibility. I will let you know how it spins out.

has any one had any service/ repairs done on these scopes do the have to go to europe for repairs. i hear lots of problems when scopes go back to the factories, not so much the factories more the returns process and vat/customs.

How do you find the 27 model with the pard mate? I’ve got one on my main stalking rifle and I’d like to get another one for my 17rem but I do a lot of foxing with it so would be with a pard

In truth that sits on my spare rifle and I’ve not used it with a pard, sorry!
