A short while ago I posted this thread.

Here is the knife born as the result of that process, thought you might like a look..?

The steel you know about, the bolsters, well the info is all there, have a look see.

What was nice, and very daunting about this project though was that chunk on antler you see there, supplied by my client and in their own words...

'It was my first ever wild red, and my first hill stag, this year upon turning 30 my wife thought it would be cool to have something made for me from it rather than it lie forgotten in a shed'.

If I messed this up there isn't a second chance, how could I refuse?

What a project to be involved in a what an honour, truly humbled.

Here a few more photos.

Bonds between folk are built throughout builds like this, friendships are forged, as said, I feel truly honoured!

The knife is OK too :)

Well, now the knife is in my hands and I have to say I’m over the moon with it. A wonderful gift from my family and perfectly executed by Stuart. This will be going to work and I hope to pass it on one day, with the antler darkened by years of use.
It’s been a really enjoyable process, with conversations most days some weeks about different aspects of the knife, which was born out of a rough line drawing on a piece of old paper. A new friend made, a new bit of kit to enjoy using for years to come. Thank you mr Mitchell, I have a feeling you may be an expensive man to know, but I’m very pleased to know you.
