Skellerup wellies

i bought some off the back of a discussion here. Very pleased. tough and warm. sizing seems pretty true (for me anyway). A touch on the heavy side, but no bad thing. Good wide calf adjustments.

Still on my first pair of Quatro insulated that I bought at the back end of 2015. I also metal detect and I don't lie when I say they have dug tens of thousands of holes. The left sole certainly has some markings from the spade treads but no actual through damage and all totally intact with no leaks. They also accompany me on all my winter hunting and fishing trips.

Easily the most robust wellington boot I have used. My brother in law is a cattle farmer and abuses the crap out of his. He previously used various other usual suspects and would get 3-4months out of pair. The Quatro do him for two years now until he knackers them. God knows what he does to them to break them but he is really impressed with them and buys nothing else now since I introduced him to Skellerup.

They run a touch big but not crazy big. They don't fall off even in the stickiest of puddles. Fit is good, internal bed is soft and supportive and they are very very warm. I only use mine from Oct-Mar. They are way too warm for me for the warmer months but then I prefer to be in proper boots in spring and summer.

How do these compare to Aigles? My desperately need replacing, tempted to give these a try instead. Aigles seem to last about 2 years, before they split along the sides.

All the above correct. A liktle larger on sizing than normal but a footbed (which helps anyway) sorts that out.

If you have prop forward calves and normal wellies are a tight crinkly fit these are great, and warm.

V pleased with my purchase. My chameau are just a little snug.

Thanks for that, it seems a nightmare trying to find a quality wellie that isn’t just a fasion accessory. They seem to have a good reputation on here.

I see they do a quatro footbed separately, do these come with them or do you recommend them on top?

Bought a pair for my son and well within six months they were leaking, if you are prone to wear on the heel (the heel is hollow) and once worn to a certain point they leak quite badly !

Not impressed with them at all and certainly wouldn’t waste my money on another pair !!

My footbeds are sole.com

I have the lined Quatro model and use them almost daily on my property, sommar and winter - water-proof in winter, snake-proof in summer. A pair last me about two years. Just started with my third pair. Best wellies ever.

Cheers

Were they the kiwi Quatro workboots (not the Sports which look a bit too weak to me)

Never heard of anyone prematurely busting through a pair without them seeing serious work.

The only reason I found out about them years ago was when returning some Muck boots that had failed within a few weeks. They had always been good and I suspect got a cult following and then moved production out East to cope with demand. Quality then went down. I hope the same hasn't happened with Skellerup.
