Couple of reviews coat and gloves

I have a few coats - 5 years ago I bought an Arcetryx shell that I used for fell walking and hiking. Tried it lately beating and in some horrendous rain and during some hard graft in terrible weather.
Very impressive to be honest
Need to get in the sales like I did I would suggest !!!!

Also bought some Extremities gloves from game and country at Selkirk I have terrible hands in cold weather (white finger) and have found these are a great compromise when stalking

No association with any brand or shop but just thought I would share anyway

I think they do some waterproof ones but I got the primaloft ones. They seemed to keep me warm in when wet though which is my priority

I used to really rate Arcteryx stuff, although it always cost an eye-watering amount. I'm less keen since they outsourced a lot of production to the Far East.

Unfortunately most manufacturers have took the same route
I have a puffer of theirs as well - as you say top dollar, I took advantage of a George Fisher sale for my shell coat. - I was in the other day, and not sure they still stock the brand

I bought a secondhand Deerhunter Explore Smock In mint condition for £60 over Christmas and it was put through its paces yesterday with non stop terrestrial rain, I was in it for 6+ hours and happy to say I was kept bone dry and the Game trousers gave a good account of themselves to .
The Arcetryx gear is top end but crikey it’s expensive, I use outdoor gear ( Berghaus ) for work when there’s a bit of weather and watched a chap rip a brand new Rab puffa £600 , I now just buy Mountain Warehouse gear .

Bought my sons puffers a couple of Christmas ago. One ripped it second time on. Lancashire sports repairs sorted it
You are right though Mountsin Warehouse and Decathlon both make some great gear and reviews on Decathlon puffers are very positive
I am over Spain in Feb so that’s on the list for a hunting puffer I think
