Central North Island, Tongariro National Park. The mountains are Ruapehu and Ngaruahoe, both active volcanoes.

Looks amazing. My wife and I spent a few weeks in NZ 3 years ago. Mostly in the South Island. We plan to do the North Island in the next couple of years.
