AvatarCase UK - beware!

Needed a new waterproof, dustproof, drop proof case for the phone so did a bit of searching & as an alternative to the Lifeproof ones I've had on previous phones I came across what looked to be an ideal case from AvatarCase UK website so placed my order.

Next thing I get is a shipping confirmation from DHL saying the item was coming from Brooklyn NY - so much for the UK bit then!

Ten days later a package arrives which I open in excitement only to find that inside is the wrong case 🙁

Send them an email saying they've sent the wrong case & quickly receive what I now think is an AI reply saying they'll offer a 20% discount if I keep it or they'll refund or replace if I send it back.

Explain that I want a replacement & request a prepaid return shipping label plus code for customs return. Response is they don't send out return shipping labels & to stick it in a post box marked 'return to sender' - big problem there isn't that there's no senders address on the package!

Roll on a week & I am now getting the exact same email replies as the ones I first got despite telling them I will accept the discount.

Looks like I'm going to have to open a PayPal dispute.

Not a UK seller despite what their website indicates, don't be surprised to get the wrong case and don't expect to get any sort of sense from them if you email them. A right shower!

Looks exactly the same as I experienced when trying to buy from China - wrong item, no return label available and refund only when returned item received by them - postage supposed to be refunded but only nominal postage of £8.00 or so received by me whereas actual post to China cost £30.00

Seems to be the standard reply if you refuse to accept something from China!!
Only way I've found is to open a dispute through Ebay. Good luck:oops:

A quick update.

As expected, no further response from the seller so PayPal dispute opened, details provided & within a matter of minutes (probably less) dispute resolved in my favour & full refund given. I’m guessing the seller is on a ‘list’ of wrong uns

Have now bought a Lifeproof case - have had them on all my previous phones & should have just bought another one for this one in the first place!

On the China front can only say the fishing terminal tackle and braid i buy is quality and arrives much quicker than stated which is bought on eBay.

Same happened to me this month. Bought a pair of boots from what appeared to be a genuine French manufacturers site. Alarm bells rang when the confirmation e-mail said the price in $ not £. Eventually received a parcel containing a wallet.
I e-mailed them asking why? Received the answer "We apologise. Keep or give to friend. We offer you 40% refund as apology. Please send your bank details". On investigation the website I used turned out to be a clone of the real one. The wallet came from China via a firm in Birmingham.
I contacted Barclays who froze my Debit Card and refunded me the money. To add insult insult to injury the 'Genuine Leather' wallet was plastic!! It's in the bin.

It's why now for new stuff I only use Amazon as there's a no quibble return policy. Indeed I bought some clothing from a Chinese seller, wrong size came for me so asked to return and refund and was told I'd be refunded (which I was) but there was no need to send the item back. Amazon it is for me for new stuff not eBay.
