Once you drink the water...

Some of you poor readers, will recall some drivel I posted after last October/November's trip to Mozambique.

It was to be our Swan Song. Our final "Huzza!" Our "Bow out". Our "Finale".

We are all getting older. Fairly sure at least half of our group are not getting any richer. Best quit whilst we can.

That was what we all agreed last time. We all agreed it amongst ourselves and (I know I did) with our respective wives, that this was it.
Definitely, absolutely our last ever Safari.

I won't go into how this happened.

Mainly because I am not entirely sure myself.

Looks like we are heading back out to Africa next year.

Northern Limpopo.

I am particularly delighted about this, because I have always wanted to write "Limpopo" in my Game Book.

"Limpopo"

Sounds like a TellyTubby

So there we are. Just have to stay alive for another eighteen months and we are Golden.

Also now have to tell the Grandkids, about where their University fee money is now being 'invested'...

O' and there's me thinking this was going to about some water born ailment....
It will be...🤮

One of our group (against advice) swam in the sea on our last day in Mozambique.

He made it home OK, but then took very poorly.

It's good to have a plan.
I know it's a long way off (about fifteen months is my best guess), but once it is in the diary, I start to enjoy it.

Have been enjoying my trip to Harris for a year already, and I am not off there until this October...

One of my late friends used to use the expression "You have the breaking strain of a Kit-Kat".......... somewhat apt I think.

Excellent news for you.....and I still keep swithering about a similar trip, although the Reindeer stalk and a bit of arctic char/salmon fishing in Iceland is also calling me......

I like it, book early, get value form money.

Harris?
We go to the outer islands most years (kayaking, walking and fishing)
I've not seen any deer.

@Stalker1962 I beg to differ, the Coat of Arms does not look promising- on closer inspection those buff are trampling, nay, dancing a jig, on [your] peace, unity and prosperity.

Whilst it appears you may have already done the latter for them, I do worry for your erm, unity...

@opticron1 for SD1962, let's amend that to "You have the breaking strain of a wet Kit-Kat".......... I wager he's planning on using the proceeds from selling off his big SD Monthly draw win.

Who do you use?

It will be my first time to Harris, and we are booked in with one of the central Estates.
I have booked a crack at a Macnab (nuts), a day fishing, a day on the Stags and a day over Pointers.

All stuff on the "Bucket list"...

That motto's a pup

Once you drink the water you will keep wanting more.

Very much an African saying. Trick is to drink lots of water in evening when it’s cool and be fully hydrated.

Then in the day you don’t need to drink very much. Manage your speed to preserve energy and don’t sweat too much.

When you do drink, just a little sip. If you start drinking water you will just keep drinking and produce a lot of sweat.

And during the intense heat of the day find deep shade and sleep.
