seriously i just bough 100 rounds of Hornaday factory ammo for less per round than my normal costs on just the Lapua brass !
I really dont buy factory but i know the .223 i just bought shoots the super performance really well. I think i am done with the brand , soon as my last Lapua has had it i doubt i will be carrying on with my other rifles . Companies that raise their prices regards their ability to in the market always face poor new customer acquisition and existing customer retention .
All for Fixing the Russian aggression but come on Guys , i have bought Lapua for decades and if i dont see the rises from others and your not the sole supplier ?

14% on my calcs and they where already top end , TBF i have also had a few different quality issues , they do last though a good few firings but not if you loose them in cover and few would push the firings too far in comps

Yeah. I’m on 10th firing on some of my Lapua!

You will find that an awful lot of stuff is going up by 14% just now. It's the usual annual price increase of 3-4% plus the 10.5% RPI.

meaningless, profits are about sales volume and price ! 14% price rise could very well go 14% sales volume loss ( in a competitive market ) . Seriously quality factory ammo at the same price shows how ridiculous it is
Everyone must make their own decision but i have made mine , it might be different if i was still competing with a pet load , for hunting use ? Pretty sure i am done now . If i see others have very significantly changed then i will re- think but its not happened yet

A reality check is needed - most CPI rates this year are 14% plus. Price will only go up never down!
Combine this with the issues in supply and it will only exacerbate the price for components.

I can reload all these calibres and not cry about a piece of brass falling into long grass on a quick reload when covering a shot animal or moving onto a second animal when culling. They all offer great accuracy. Maybe not 10 re-loads but then I don’t have the time to be annealing necks or the inclination to buy an annealer to retain neck tension. That’s of my brass makes it back home to even be reloaded.

53gr V-max are 30p each now days. PPU brass 38p, primer 10p ish, powder 6p per round based on 15000 grains in kilo of N133. 652 rounds at 23gr at a cost of £100 a kilo. Hope my maths works out. 84.5p a round of .223. £16.90 for 20.

£1 per round , just bought 5 boxes hance the comparison hit me smack bang square in the face ! Quite a few serious competitors in the States seem to be using Hornady brass in serious comps .
You know i used to laugh at PPU brass but i now use it in the 22 Hornet, its a lower capacity at 10.5 grains of lilgun compared to up to 13 grain in others but this is the weird bit Lil'gun performs better when compressed!
I haven't used factory ammo for decades! Yeah culling i loose about 1/3 of my brass in the 260 rem and it seems to be near impossible to get the 260 brass now so i just necked up a load of 243 new Lapua . If i empty the mag i do have a good search after the shots .
Was actually looking at the PPU for the 260 but having just bought a box of 243 and necked them up i am good with perhaps 150-180 left as multi fired . No deer ever noticed 0.25 moa difference even if it occurs

Sorry that's incorrect. Profits are about sales volume and price MINUS cost of sales/input, operating expenses etc. In this case the prices of copper (70% of case brass) has risen roughly 21% since July 2022, peak inflation hit double digits in 2022 across several European countries (11.1% in Q4 in UK, 9.1% Finland) and price of electricity massively increased (in Finland specifically (Lapua) the price of electricity rose 70% between May and Sept last year. 14% is a big increase but in the context of how much everything has increased perhaps not so bad (especially when you look at the increase in copper prices).

I have been self employed running various companies from 22 year old btw and married a very good accountant . Companies dont go bust my getting costings a little off , not at all ! Sales volume and price is called turnover and is not the same as profits or even profitable turnover (your very good accountant wife will confirm that). You could have set your sales team a £2 Trillion sales (turnover) target but if it is unprofitable you're not doing any good. Firms go bust for one reason - they run out of cash (you can run a business for years' without making a profit...until they run out of cash).

Pedentics , aint got time for it look at the posted current prices for other cheaper products . The raw brass coil will actually come from the same plant i very strongly suspect
Processes will be different ( like shoulder annealing ) also packing and marketing but look at the cost difference , Lapua is of course good brass but further increases makes it Over Priced now for myself . Would feel different if i was still shooting 1000 yards matches and almost never loosing brass etc but 500 is a real exception culling deer , i will be buying elsewhere now and others can of course make their own choices but ejecting so many cases to be lost in deep vegetation and the defences in costs widening so much now against other brands personally speaking i am out !
Profit is dependant on pricing accurate to the buyers price range and against the other suppliers . Lapua just exceeded my personal price range by too great an asking price at the retail end of things , no more no less
