ID rifle and gear.

Royal Navy clearance diver. Selection. SAS Trooper(later WO) tattoos both forearms. Later removed by laser, when required by post service security.
I had a colleague who was ex-military (not SF) - he had tattoos on both arms. He grew older, changed career and made the decision to have a couple of the more “interesting” tattoos lasered off.

He described it as the most painful thing he ever experienced. 😳

Yes very true. Takes a couple of sessions, less painful to cut them off.😂

Yes, he had to have a couple of sessions - apparently they laser in a chequer board fashion - one week the black squares the next time the white.

My mate did say he would never have it done again.

AFAIK. No tattoos visible when wearing short sleeved shirt. General British Army policy
Not enforced beyond recruiting, a tad difficult when the Army RSM has both arms covered!
The rule was only enforced on recruits if the tattoo was offensive or supported a banned organisation!

Sounds like a lot of crying in the story too......
I remember I was given the tale in printed form and cried laughing. Then a SIL and a mate and I were on our way through Melbourne to a game fair one day and I related the tale to the other two blokes. I was crying as I told it and the three of us were all laughing so hard we almost shat ourselves and I do remember people in other cars looking at us (at lights) in bewilderment ha ha. Its very funny hearing it first up.

You have reminded me of this very amusing but totally unrelated clip!! Excuse my digression 🤣

I laughed so hard I hurt myself . From now on , I will yell " Armageddon ! " before crop dusting ........ it's the least I can do to honor Whiskers memory . By the way , were any charges laid for animal abuse ? I mean , do whatever floats your boat , but leave the rodents alone , poor little whiskers .

Not just hamsters...

A thousand years ago in another life: I was explaining that sometimes a patient presents with what was referred to as a "? foreign body".

I showed this very young, very bright, and very 'inexperienced' medical student this x-ray.

Her response has amused me for decades:-

"How on earth did he swallow that?"🙄
