Delta Titanium HD 2.5 - 15 X 56 vs Hawke Frontier 5-30 x56… Best for low light?

My reluctance to the Delta is that the lower mag makes me feel nervous …. However …

Looking for something for last light and these two are in budget, would the frontier be worse?

Delta, or buy used for the new delta budget you could get something else used. It really depends what you are after from the scope. If low light is key I would say go with a fixed magnification. If you want a variable a used Schmidt and bender variable with good glass should be in your budget.

I have owned both the Hawke and the delta, I would have another delta. The Hawke isn’t a bad scope just not for me.

Delta - unless you are going for long distance target diciplines ... the delta is excellent with NV addon, great for tracking with a large FoV and very good at last/first light.

The Delta will be the better low light scope by a decent margin.

At 5-30 the Hawke is more target oriented.

Curious but what make you nervous about having a maximum of 15 x mag? I had two novice shooters hitting 10” gongs at 450m yesterday with a 2.5-15x50 scope set at 12x and they were doing the job just fine.
I think it’s purely a mental thing, nothing living will be shot beyond 300M and I shot a fox yesterday at 196 with 10x, weird really..

I think you have answered your own question to a certain extent.

I truth though you won’t regret the Delta.

GPO Spectra 4-16x50 is also a decent option although not as good light gathering as the Delta.

Delta optics nigh on as good as the best Zeiss. Superb scope for a stalking rifle and add on compatible.

Another vote for the GPO Spectra I bought one of one of the fine SD members on here and have been very impressed so far. Also works really well with NV read add ons

Delta titanium scope like the delta binos I have, use Bak 4 prisms same as Swarovski and the delta scope is a serious piece of kit for the money

PS I have just taken a Hawke Frontier 30SF Scope off my 6.5 x 55, it’s a 2.5 x 15 x 56 in very good condition coupled with Hawke Tactical Weaver Medium 30mm mounts

The scope is great for all foxing and stalking daylight or with night vision

Only done 70 rounds but I’m fitting my HikMicro 4k to the rifle so scope and rings coming up for sale on here shortly
