Never thought of this , good idea if not requiring separate ammo safe, I have a large very strong key safe on the out side of the house, since while stalking in Dorset got a call to say next door's cat was sat on my dinning table and I was not due to come home for several days. It also means if required the emergency services can let themselves in with no damage or delay.

Surely safer to hide your keys! I'd think a small safe is just advertising their whereabouts.
I have a police approved one,holds my cabinet ×3, keys plus my ammo box keys
This was suggested to me by my FEO at my last renewal as I say suggested not demanded by my FEO as since I lost my wife
and now living on my own they can get access to my guns without involving locksmiths etc. Should anything happen to me , which is not unlikely at my age.
Combination of key safe and an address where they can get a door key if the worst should happen
Seemed like a good idea to me.

I installed one and on a routine visit to grill my youngest about his FAC application I showed the FEO my latest cabinet addition since his original visit (he was ok with that) and then I asked him what he thought about the Key Safe which I'd installed hidden inside a cupboard. He hated them and quote, "as soon as someone sees one of those they know it holds a key that will be useful to them and they will sledge hammer it off the wall and then smash it to get the key". Waste of £50 then for Avon & Somerset! Got mine after I saw it being advertised in the BASC magazine...........I’ve considered one of the high security police approved type

Won’t go into my key security arrangements but I suspect Wilts would be ok.Be careful. I installed one and on a routine visit to grill my youngest about his FAC application I showed him my latest cabinet addition (all was ok) and then asked him what he thought about the Key Safe which was hidden inside a cupboard. I have CCTV and a monitored alarm anyway so by the time they were anywhere near anything if interest the police would be informed that there were burglars in a house that contained guns and ammunition.

As do I, but I've little confidence in likely response times nowadays I'm afraid. At the FEO's direction I now conceal the various keys in several locations. God help the wife if I go first..................
