Why do women do this?

First argument when home will be..."you miserable bastard, here I am dying in the hospital and ye wouldn't even cough up for a cab fare" 😁
No John, it would more likely be "You lazy so and so, you've left some washing up for me to do"!;)
As it is I haven't slept now for some some 40+ hours so I am going to get some sleep as soon as I have given the dog his last walk of the night. My last conversation with Marlene (Less than an hour ago) was for her to tell me that they have just moved her onto yet another ward - The third move for her in 12 hours.
The consultant has said that they don't expect to get a slot for an angiogram for her for about two days so she is going to be stuck there twiddling her thumbs but she is being very well taken care of and she has said that she is quite comfortable.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts and good wishes, I will pass them on to her when I see her at visiting time tomorrow which I know that she will appreciate, and I too thank you all also!

P.S. I haven't had any of the "Mad Apple" tonight in case I get a call and have to drive!
Good night all and thanks!

It's been a hellish week for us. The wife had to go into hospital for a colonoscopy on Sunday just gone as the doctor suspected that she might have Bowel Cancer. As it is (And thankfully) the colonoscopy showed that she was 100% clear of cancer. What she didn't tell either me or the consultant at the time on Sunday was that she had been having chest, shoulder, arm and jaw pains for the last few days - She hid it so well from me that I didn't have a clue! As it is she waited until about 1;30 this morning to ask me to call for an ambulance as she felt that it was getting worse. I should have realized when our dog would not leave her side but I was too blind or stupid to notice that!
The ambulance has taken her to hospital at 2;30 this morning with a suspected heart attack - If it is a heart attack it will be her third one!
I feel that I have let her down as I did not notice that there was anything wrong and to make it worse I had a 2 liter bottle of cider followed by a rather large whisky during the late evening so I am unable/unfit to drive to get to the hospital to be with her right now as it would not be sensible (Or safe) for me to drive right now.
At the moment I am glugging down cups of strong black coffee and hoping that it will not be too long before I am safe to drive so I can be with her at the hospital.
Why the hell do women hide these damned important things from us men and leave us feeling useless and a let down to them?
Take care Bud.
Without going into the details my other half covered up her ill health blaming the weather, long covid, lack of sleep, me, her mother, just about anything but the dog.
It finally came to a head when I had to call 999 at 01:50 about 10 weeks ago and she went to Hospital under Blues and Two's, she called me all the names under the Sun for doing so, but she is now recovering and is a different person.

Hope she makes a good recovery ❤️‍🩹
I’m not sure why anyone over 14yrs of age would drink 2L of cider and a large whisky sounds rather disgusting 🤮 but that’s another topic 😂

I guess it's just something that I do, just as some men will go to the pub and drink 4 or 5 (Or however many) pints of bitter (Or whatever) each night.:tiphat:

Best wishes Frenchie, I am sure things will turn out, at least Marlene is having a rest, and I advise you to do the same, Oh and make sure the washing up is done , and the hoovering, etc

Hope the wife is ok.
limit the booze as you may need to drive and it ain't worth losing your licence mate.
All the best 🤞 p.s the house better be spotless you know what they are like.
What you been doing while i am stuck in there

Having had a couple of serious conditions, hindsight says I was detorating for some time before.

Alas I didn't react as it happened slowly. Before you can be honest with others you have to be honest with yourself.

Get in a cab and start getting on with life.

I've been visiting twice every day. Marlene is in quite good form but quite peed off as they can not get a slot for an angiogram until at least next Tuesday.
As for keeping the house together I think I could do with a new pair of Marigold Gloves, and I've just finished a load or ironing.
Who says us men are not house trained? ;)

Glad to hear she's in good form Frenchie, an old lady friend of mine has been waiting a week for the same treatment. They moved her last night to another hospital in B,' Ham, she hopes to get it done today. I told her it was all due to a mis spent youth with me.🤪

They're all the same my wife hid stomach pain away from me I came home from work to find her unconscious in a corner of the bedroom.

I guess so many of our wives are the same, (At least that is how it looks). They say that they don't want to worry us but don't they realize that we are here with them to help them through things like that. The annoying thing is that if there are times when the boot is on the other foot mine will badger me to tell her what is wrong while they hide these things from us so well, it really can be infuriating at times when they will not tell us men that there is something wrong!:banghead:

Hi Pete,
Only just seen this thread.
Best wishes to both Marlene and yourself.

I had a kidney infection and HA (Simultaneously) last year and still don't know which caused which, but when in hospital they talked about stents, pacemakers and new valves....even had me thinking I might not go home period.
One afternoon they gave me a water pill, then, 10 mins later came back and said 'Would have been better if we didn't give you the water poll as Its a bit inconvenient if you need to pee but we're taking you for an Angiogram now.
When the Doctor doing the Angio. was nearly done he said ' Right, I think you can go home tomorrow'.
I jokingly asked if he'd fitted the Stents, Pacemaker and new valve and he said ' No, no treatment needed.
I did indeed go home alive the next day.
I sincerely hope Marlene a has a similar experience.
Is she in FF?
Ken. 😍
