Hi Phil,hi Clive.
how does this compare against my dragon fly over an archer.
I use the night force at 12 power and the spot fills the fob perfect.
thanks phil.
I've just returned from a bit of testing with an Alpex:How will this fair with scopes like the C50 and Alpex? have you tested on on these scopes yet Clive? im thinking illuminating full screen on base mag and black hole in the middle issues.
Sounds the business, i’ll pm you Clive.I've just returned from a bit of testing with an Alpex:
It completely fills the field of view on base mag with no darkening of the centre of the beam at all. And we had a very crisp image out to 300 yards (which was the furthest range available at the location). It will undoubtedly do much more.
Also tested at full mag (14X) and tightening the beam of the BLADE. Similar perfect results.
There was no problem with whiteout or having a hot centre to the beam. It's completely even.
One thing of note. The BLADE on test was just in a Figure 8 mount and was perfectly aligned with the centre of the scope. So no real 'need' for big clumsy adjustable mounts. A cheapo QR 25 or 30mm scope ring can be used. It's very precisely engineered.
I've left the BLADE with the chap who has the Alpex so they might be able to get some more interesting footage of something other than an empty field.
So it really is a universal illuminator. No need for a diffuser or separate models for lower magnification dedicated or high magnification add ons.
Cheers
Clive
It won't be a gamble. It will work extremely well with what you have. Are these available and ready to ship if I order one? Prepared to take a gamble and see how it goes in a Vulpine MK3. Be interesting to see if it’s as good as a Wraith and be a result if it is as appears lighter.
Hi Phil.Out now on foxes, this new IR from Clive is top drawer, streets better than the pile I have in the bag, using it on the 204 with the 007 and it’s so much clearer and manageable the range is way way more than I shoot, pat on the back Clive on a good job well done. And thank you
Phil
Hi Phil.
What other illuminators have you tried the "blade" against ie Solaris, sirius xtl ect.
I think for a lot of use that have a drawer full of i/r illuminators we need a clearer image and more range, not just a lighter i/r to justify spending another £150.
Dave (warbucks)
Ok thanks for this PhilHi Dave
I’ve got Solaris pulsar ludicrous wicked lights etc etc and many others
It was pretty black last night and I tried a couple - pulsar LL none of those gave name the clarity
I normally keep well within 180 mtrs, last night according to my thermal RF one was 220 mtrs and another 246 mtrs, I wouldn’t have taken the shots if all wasn’t 100% right on clarity ID and back stop another fox at 80 mtrs looked like a sharp picture
I was pretty impressed seeing it was on a pard 007 V and a 400 quid hawke scope, they aren’t the best Nv and scope on the market but gotta say it worked brilliantly, took 5 minutes to set it up, I’m pleased with it, I took the punt and got 3 hawke scopes all the same reticule parallax etc and 2 007v pard and I’m very pleased with the result
I’ve got a shelf full of other NV and quality scopes gathering dust, but the whole kit just works
Out tonight and Will give it a better run out on rabbits and foxes with different ranges and calibres![]()
Hi Cyres,Clive
Is this available in 940 and if so price. Also any idea of the range when fitted with a 940.
It would be useful if on the tech spec you listed the basic unirs wavelength and optional pills. Looking to be using it on a Photon and N470s
D
940nm is covert and v useful for wary Quarry.
D
I had a quick google, cheers
IR Illuminator Wavelengths – 850nm compared to 940nmFor covert surveillance, 940nm IR light is recommended, because it is completely invisible to humans, even at the light source. Keep in mind, however, that the 940nm wavelength IR illuminators have 50% less range than 850nm IR illuminators do.

Benefit of the blade is that it can be run on a 'low' setting and wide beam which helps prevent quarry from spooking, another tip is to have the centre of your crosshairs in the bottom edge of the beam, makes the target less likely to get stage fright!![]()
Is the head moveable or is it fixed position?
