Hello, My name is Robert.
I live in Halkirk in the Highlands. I've only recently taken up interest in Stalking and have yet to have my first hunt!
I work with a few colleagues who have been stalking deer for over 10 years and I've become interested in this sport.
Rifle wise, I've been considering the 308 or 270 as a round (much debate around 308 being a bowling ball and it's curvature). I've been looking at Tikka's for my first rifle.
Will be looking in the near future to book a local guide (i know in the rules it said not to ask, i'm not asking, just explaining my situation) to get out and experience the thrill.
I've not submitted my Rifle Application as yet, waiting for my colleague to sign off the 2nd Referee part, but that won't be long.
I'm an ex Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineer, so using a firearm (albeit it slightly different) is not new to me.
Anyway, i hope you are all well and i look forward to stealing as much information and guidance that i can.
Robert.
