Oh FFS!

All right then.

3rd time of asking.

Mrs S62 has gone 'old school', and just come back from the shops.
Amazon can 'do one'...

Giddy with excitement - will stick them on the feeders tomorrow.

Can't possibly screw this up...dyscalulia notwithstanding ...

I still don’t get why number them?

Management.

If I cannot make it to the farm - it helps when giving instructions to the Under-Keeper and her Assistant.

It is interesting (for me) to note which feeders are used more than others.

It helps with my OCD.

Brilliant!
Painting the feeders different colours could have introduced ambiguity into the experiment but the birds will never cop on to the significance of different numbers In the same font.
I take it that you have also standardised the size, number and manufacturer of the tyres which are strangely and unexplainably draped around the feeders to reduce possible variations?

Only 6 FFS - anyone else feeling short-changed

@wytonpjs

Initially, I have only marked those feeders within the Pen - but having four outstanding numbers is an issue.:-|

You are of course right.

That, and my OCD have forced me to 'correct' the error.

I have now 'marked up' another four feeders (currently at my house) although they are not yet deployed.

Having taken advice from another Keeper on here (@stavross), this year I will not load the 'external' feeders until about four weeks before the first shoot day.

I very much suspect, that in the past, I have fed too far, too wide and too early...

I think we can all rest easy now...🤗

same…..ish

We only use external feeders once our birds are routinely feeding outside the pen (blue barrel feeders) but initially will place one or 2 of the same top hat feeders immediately outside of the pen. We try to stop using them quickly as the rats love them and wastage is high.

I was always told that the professional Keeper would never mix radial and cross-ply in the same pen
Fair point.

Some of them were fly tipped on the Farm, and others I begged (they were delighted for me to take them), from a local tyre fitters.
