Not much luck with the pest controls SD?
Used to use them in my fac Daystate but found them to heavy for my hw100 sub 12. Fantastic pellets though.Taking of airguns. I got home yesterday after just one week away and squirrels and crows have taken up residence!
Now I know bizzy mags in 22@21gn are not everyone's cup of tea in a sub 12 ft/lb airgun but I have always been pretty impressed at short range just how well they plonk stuff!
Every squirrel under 25yds across the chest drops out of the trees within a few seconds!
They also make a springer hush up.
Anyone else use them.

I wouldn't in town as an FAC holder one slip could end it all or even a complaint even if it was fictitious or exaggerating the truth . TBF I didn't shoot in my garden at all when i was in town .Who has a plinking range in the garden and what’s it look like?
I’m going to put myself a backstop up and give my self a 30-40 yard range. I’m thinking of using a few 3x2 slabs and some sand to stop Rick O’Shea from joining the party. But thought I’d see what any of you guys are using before setting in.

I once met a fella who walked out into his garden and took a pellet to the brain from a neighbours air gunning exploits . touch and go hanging onto to life the air ambulance and a good surgeon saved him but he had paralysis in areas of his body . In England at least there are lots of out door field target clubs and 50 yard 22 rf indoor ranges.
If i had a feral or rat problem and i once did have a feral problem that's a different matter.
Times have changed for sure as regards public perception and police reactions to shooting in towns
In the northwest a few years ago some Richard Craniums were shooting Seagulls. When caught they said they thought the birds were Wigan Pigeons.Wow you know some unfortunate people, one shot a horse because of the invention of thermal imaging and the other got shot in the head because of airguns!
Stay tuned for more exciting adventures from the wild North West folks!!

Sorry i assumed purely on the basis of you asking cannot understand why you posted if your clear all around and not just got on with it ? hence my assumptionWhere did I say I’m in town? We have gardens in the sticks too
Because I was interested in what people have done as a setup, what targets people use, etc.Sorry i assumed purely on the basis of you asking cannot understand why you posted if your clear all around and not just got on with it ? hence my assumption
unfortunately they are none to difficult to shoot through with 22 lr after a few hits . i lined mine out inside with steel after the first few shots and then filled the thing with old catalogs and building sand . pretty amazing what a 22 sub can shoot through at 50 yards or lessOld railway sleepers are good.
You look kind of foolish if your trying to cast doubt when a great deal of guys in the NW know about the above . Am i worried about more incidents with thermals ? Yeah a lot as it happens . The chap in question had a lot of experience under his belt even if he was a poaching wrongdoer nerdowell , wait till they are on sale at prices that will attract the less experienced ! Shooting at night with a Lamp has created enough serious incidents on humans and stock over the years and i simply cannot see how the switch to thermal the continued roll out wont be worse as the prices drop.Wow you know some unfortunate people, one shot a horse because of the invention of thermal imaging and the other got shot in the head because of airguns!

Not sure we're talking about the same railway sleepers, BB. I've been using mine for several years and I'm sure they'll last a good few more. The ones I use are solid wood soaked in tar-like preservative and weigh a ton!unfortunately they are none to difficult to shoot through with 22 lr after a few hits . i lined mine out inside with steel after the first few shots and then filled the thing with old catalogs and building sand . pretty amazing what a 22 sub can shoot through at 50 yards or less
Of course there are different timbers used and get enough tar into them ..... !? I really would add the plate 5mm m/s sloped to face down some and timber sleeper behind is a way safer set up . 22 rf swinging or spinning targets are good for a heck of a lot of 22 sub hits in 5mm, its not expensive either . Think on is its not one or two hits and it does make the lead recoverable in the sand rather than stuck in the wood with each shot degrading the timberNot sure we're talking about the same railway sleepers, BB. Not so I’m afraid. I shot clean through one with a high velocity .22lr round. Got to admit I was a little surprised. You aren't getting through a railway sleeper with a few 22lr shots.
