Just thinking aloud really. :-|
Whilst half-heartedly watching the match, I wondered how Ukraine continue to field a full football team of fighting age men, whilst pleading & begging the rest of the world for assistance & support for their war effort?
Why aren't these young, fit & healthy men either volunteering or being enlisted into their armed forces?
Any thoughts?

People need hope, that is why they went to church is times past. ;)

It's probably, what, 30 guys? Some of whom may well have already performed some military service, representing their country, which remember is being threatened with extermination and the accusation that it isn't really a country at all.

Keeping Ukraine represented in international activities like sport is important and probably these guys are making a bigger contribution representing their country than they would be as individual riflemen.

Are you being serious ? Or just fishing for shite comments.?

I have a thought , why not try getting out the house and keeping yourself occupied away from the computer, either that or get studying for your school exams.

I had a look at your posts for anything stalking/hunting related which explains your post

Crikey Tim!! I didn't realize I had to justify my sincere interest in countryside sports, hobbies & pastimes to become a member & supporter of this site. :-|
Nor do I feel I have to constantly post asking questions.
I have several family members & friends (who are, incidentanly, also members on here) who I can discuss and debate topics with.
I'm an avid reader of several of our SD forums which hold a specific interest to me.
Your facetious response is indeed laughable :tiphat::rofl:

Bet they can hold there own in a fire fight! with less fuss than our lot can do getting a sack wax or stubbing there toe on the way out of the hair dressers .

The Ukraine has had enough stick with out being questioned about their football team carrying a rifle...
Lots of people in both wars worked the land in factory's hell my Nan was tea lady at the Hoffman bearing factory during the war walking home 10 miles from this house I am in. Read a few of your attempts which never made it to boring lol

I believe the Ukraine Eurovision singing contestants were going back to the front line after the competition. Footballers may be the same ?

A couple of points to note......
Many of the Ukraine players are presently employed by other European teams - I'm sure that there will have been a considerable number of fighting age footballers both in Ukraine and in Europe who will have responded to he call to arms.
During WW2, football continued throughout the conflict and was often used as a means of recruitment to the armed forces. Many of the players did sign up and fight at the time (much like the pals battalions in WW!).
In addition to all this, football must be a bit of a morale booster in troubled times!

I'm sure when my Dad was stuck in the jungles of Burma trying to take pot shots at the Japs, he would have much preferred to have been back home playing football!:)
