Pulsar C50 Digex?

My C50 has lived on my .223 for the last 18 months, its bomb proof, if you are looking for the versatility of a one scope solution and accept it will never be as crisp as glass in daytime its hard to beat. Zero hasn’t moved, turns on as it should, no freezing or funny lines etc it just works. Just as happy foxing or stalking, shot foxes in the dark with no illumination and the last light gathering for stalking is way beyond the most expensive glass.
Ive used an Alpex and theres a few differences, i like to video stuff and the recording playback quality of the Alpex is far better than the C50, must be a Pulsar thing.
The C50 has a quicker start up so you dont really need to have it on standby, you can shoot from cold alot quicker than the Alpex.
C50 screen is just a touch bigger.
C50 has a better battery system
Alpex focus ring is very stiff and needs a coaster.
Ive read a few people have had problems with zero and settings changing as the side wheel is acivated while they walk with the rifle slung, not ideal with that gold medal buck in the cross hairs.
It just seems the C50 has been thought about a little more.

Heres a vid of a few muntjac, the pair were in the very last legal light and were only visible as something moving to the naked eye but still able to shoot in colour, the last one was bang on 200yds.

I’m sure somebody will correct me if I’m wrong but my understanding is that image / light intensifying rifle scopes are not legal for deer, regardless of the time of day or night. With the correct licence in place it must be done by torch light?

The C50 would fall into this category 🫣

What rifle where you using for the video, 223?

A night licence is required to shoot deer in Scotland at night irrespective of the means of sighting the rifle
However, from 21 October, thermal and NV scopes can legally be used in daytime and would now also be legal to use at night - if a night shooting licence has been obtained
I think the biggest effect of the change will be that people who have digital day/night scopes like the C50, Alpex etc can now use them legally to shoot any species of deer in Scotland during the hours of daylight (i,e one hour after sunrise until one hour after sunset

I use 53gn Hornady Vmax Super Performance for foxing and im fortunate that cheapy PPU softpoints shoot fine so use them on the Muntys.
 
Hi,
I made an enquiry via one of the SD Trader’s website a couple of days ago but as yet not received a reply.
In the meantime I’ve located an Aplex within 8 miles from home, so I’ll go look at that tomorrow.
As someone suggested the focus will need a coaster that will be a no buy for me if it turns out true on the one I look at.
