Dry dog food

I've always used Skinners (with a dollop of minced beef organs), from puppy through to adult. Good quality feed that is reasonably priced and made not too far away. More importantly, my lot do well on it, never had any stomach issues and always empty bowls.

Dr John Silver, supplemented with deer offal and venison scraps.
When I was contract shepherding, and my dogs were working really hard, I fed Dr John Gold.

Dont have dogs but friend feeds his gold as well, It seems to be pretty well enjoyed. 👍

I’m using alpha at the mo and the spaniels during the day seem to be loosing the energy/ can’t be arsed mood which is unlike spaniels.

I tried the alpha high performance and it seemed okay but I try to rotate my dogs so they don’t get over worked etc. they just went loopy on that so currently on the junior and active from alpha and this happens 🙈🙈

Perhaps too much protein I use working maintenance with beef 19% protein in saying that my dogs getting on a bit now.

I got some that sporting maintenance on order to try it see how they do. I do feed some raw with it as well.
I tried skinners in the past it didn’t agree with my dogs.

It’s probably been done before but what dry food is everyone using for the working dogs?
I’m currently using alpha

All dogs are different, some do really well on the really expensive £60+ per 25kg feeds and some have upset stomachs from it whilst doing well on bags costing about £25 per 25kg.

I have found it’s a bit of a case or try a few out and monitor the results.

If you’ve more than one dog then you gotta try and find feed that suits them all (or feed seperately for each dog).
