Personally, I'm more irked that money is extorted from me and the large majority of other people who don't watch his programmes and used to fund and promote him and his views and campaigns some of which are really quite wacky. Packham's actual audience is small.

No. The general licence fiasco happened because the 1981 wildlife protection act (the precise name eludes me) was bad EU legislation applied here in a harmful way. At the time everyone was assured that it wouldn't be used in this way and dealing with corvids and pigeons wasn't a problem. The general licences were a fudge and Packham et al campaigned for the fudge to be reduced.
In fact what ahold have happened post Brexit is that the legislation ought to have been repealed and replaced with legislation appropriate to the UK's environment.

But it misses the point that he is not making apolitical comment, he is undertaking a legal action against the governments failure to fulfill commitments.
( I understand the nuances but there is a difference)

He is completely entitled to take legal action against whoever he likes.
Never mind the fact that a huge portion of the populace would support him.
I think the quicker folk realise that hating CP puts them in the minority the easier life will be for them.

I would think the Legal Profession would be rubbing their hands at the thought of people regulaly taking the government to court for failing to do things they promised, the money would never stop flowing
